Moulding Operator

About the Role
The Moulding Operator is responsible for the tempering, moulding, and cooling of tempered liquor or butter, ensuring products meet established quality, safety, and production standards while achieving planned output volumes. S/He will be based in Tema, reporting to the Shift Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the tempering machine to ensure chocolate liquor is tempered according to established quality standards.
- Fill the tempered liquor accurately into moulds to meet product weight and quality specifications.
- Operate and monitor the cooling tunnel to ensure proper solidification of moulded products.
- Ensure products meet required quality, food safety, and appearance standards.
- Maintain target production volumes while minimizing process losses and waste.
- Monitor process parameters (center lines) and make necessary adjustments to optimize equipment performance.
- Report equipment malfunctions, quality issues, and production deviations promptly.
- Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping activities (CIL) to maintain equipment condition, a safe and hygienic work environment. This includes the cleaning of the inline magnets (OPRP 3A/B) per the define QMS procedures.
- Comply with all health, safety, food safety, GMP, and operational procedures.
- Complete production records, checklists, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Perform general cleaning of the equipment and mould boxes during preventive maintenance and any other time as may be required.
- Labels all produced products.
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
About You
- Minimum NVTI Grade I or II Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline with at least one (1) year post-qualification hands-on experience in a manufacturing, processing, or production environment.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery operations, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hygiene Standards, HACCP, and Food Defense/Food Safety requirements.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude with the ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment faults.
- Ability to operate electrical manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ability to operate a forklift, with certification being an added advantage.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to addressing operational issues.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate production records and process documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to product quality, food safety, and operational excellence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and consistently achieve production targets.
