About the Role

 

Manager, SC Excellence plays a critical role in driving the operational excellence and efficiency of Barry Callebaut's Supply Chain. This position is vital for the successful implementation of standardized processes, best practices, and tools in alignment with the company's Supply Chain strategy. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and exceptional leadership abilities to enhance service levels, digitalize processes, and meet local process requirements.

 

  • Implement and deploy standardized processes, best practices, and tools in alignment with Barry Callebaut's Supply Chain strategy, achieving harmony between enhancing service levels, digitalizing processes, and meeting local process requirements.
  • Pilot and evaluate new practices through collaborations with internal teams and external partners, using data-driven analysis to refine and implement effective solutions that enhance supply chain efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional excellence teams to ensure consistency and seamless end-to-end alignment across the supply chain to integrate best practices, maintain uniform standards, and enhance overall supply chain performance.
  • Implement and publish standardized KPIs to measure and monitor supply chain performance, ensuring alignment with organizational concepts and goals, facilitating data-driven decision-making for continuous improvement.
  • Capture and manage a robust project roadmap in collaboration with Supply Chain teams to achieve strategic goals and enhance supply chain maturity.
  • Recommend priorities and decisions for improvement or transformation projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and optimizing impact on supply chain operations.
  • Assist regional teams in developing continuous improvement plans aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and achieving strategic goals.
  • Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for global, regional, and local continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring cohesive coordination and alignment across all levels of the organization
  • Lead and develop a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization, emphasizing proactive efforts to enhance processes, optimize performance, and achieve sustained growth.
  • Promote and acknowledge best practices within the supply chain team, fostering a culture of recognition and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.
  • Connect with customer supply chain, GBS and supply planning teams to support the SC organization leverage service objectives and increase the stickiness by providing value added continuous improvement experiences.
  • Support documentation of procedures and training programs throughout the supply chain organization.

 

Job Responsibilities Include

 

  • Develop and maintain a continuous improvement framework to drive systematic and consistent improvements across the supply chain.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to educate employees on continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and project management
  • Identify and eliminate inefficiencies within the supply chain processes through root cause analysis and the implementation of effective actions.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of continuous improvement initiatives, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Benchmark performance against industry standards and competitors to identify opportunities for improvement and best practices adoption.
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions during the implementation of new processes or systems.
  • Develop and manage budgets for continuous improvement projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial objectives.
  • Utilize advanced analytics and technology to identify trends, forecast improvements, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of supply chain processes to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional improvement teams to address complex challenges and drive holistic improvements across the supply chain.

 

Scope

  • All business units in Chocolate SC
  • Manages Continuous improvement flow along the region for Supply Chain.
  • Manages project and productivity road map for Supply Chain.
  • Deploys Global Supply Chain standards & policies;
  • Strong drive to increase SC KPIs performance;
  • Develop procedures, policies and standards for Supply Chain area;
  • Lead cross-functional (local & regional) projects under Global Supply Chain guidelines;

 

 

About You

 

  • Mandatory - Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Mandatory - Certification in Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt), Kaizen, or similar.
  • Nice to have - Post graduate or MBA or MD in MBA in Project Management / Strategic Management / Business Management.
  • Nice to have - Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and manage changes in a complex environment
  • Min 10+ years of overall experience including 5+ years of relevant domain experience in industry
  • Proactive and collaborative approach
  • Critical thinking, ability to spot trends and work with large data sets
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Problem-solving abilities to develop innovative solutions to supply chain challenges.
  • Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Change management expertise to guide the organization through transitions smoothly.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI) and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of supply chain management software and systems to streamline and enhance processes.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements related to supply chain management.
  • Experience in developing and implementing training programs for continuous improvement initiatives
