About the role
We are currently hiring for our Vice President of Sourcing, Europe. Based in Zurich and reporting into our Global CPO, this is a key role responsible for managing all Non-Cocoa Ingredient activities in Europe. The role will also be instrumental in developing sourcing strategies as well as building sourcing partnerships to ensure ingredients are purchased at competitive levels while meeting company quality standards.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading a group of 20 associates in Europe managing all sourcing activities to support our chocolate plants and to ensure financial goals are met
- Driving strategies, plans, and programs to increase margins and product quality
- Developing profitability goals, P/L, and budget
- Serving on local Senior Management Team developing strategies to ensure we stay “best in class”
- Developing, expanding and optimizing our vendor supplier network and partnerships in Europe
- Maintaining strong cross-functional partnerships within the company
- Supporting global non-cocoa strategy and project implementation in the region
- Managing commodity risks and positions to ensure compliance with BC Risk Management Policies
- Participating in industry events and customer visits as needed
- Driving Sustainability Programs and other company initiatives at global and regional level
- Helping deploy and execute indirect material global strategy and initiatives to help indirect team
About you
- A minimum Bachelor degree in Business, Procurement, or Food Science – Master’s degree in Business or Finance preferred
- At least 10 years of Procurement experience in the food industry and at least 5 years of experience leading senior managers and their teams
- Knowledge of technical specifications, standards, regulations, and best practices of non-cocoa ingredients - Sugar, Dairy, Oils & Fats
- Puts a strong emphasis on teamwork and cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across different levels of the organization and with external partners
- Demonstrates ability to analyze complex situations, identify critical issues, and make bold, strategic decisions to drive progress
