About the role

 

The Senior Group Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in the organization by bridging the responsibilities of operational compliance coordination and strategic oversight. Reporting directly to the Head Group Compliance, this role focuses on implementing, managing, and enhancing the organization’s compliance framework. The position involves ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, mitigating risks, and fostering a culture of compliance and ethical conduct across all levels of the organization.

The Senior Group Compliance Officer will take ownership of advanced compliance processes, lead strategic compliance initiatives, and support the Head of Compliance in decision-making and policy development.

 

Key Responsibilities Include

 

  • Compliance Program Development: Support the Head of Group Compliance in designing, implementing, and managing the organization's compliance programs, ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulations, and legal standards
  • Risk Management: Lead risk assessments, identify compliance vulnerabilities, and implement mitigation measures for risks such as anti-bribery and corruption, trade sanctions and embargos, conflicts of interest and fraud
  • Policy Implementation: Develop and maintain policies and procedures for compliance and data privacy, ensuring alignment with global regulations, including GDPR
  • Project Leadership: Oversee compliance projects, including data protection initiatives and the rollout of compliance controls
  • Investigations & Reporting: Conduct and support global compliance investigations, report findings, and provide actionable recommendations to management
  • Training & Awareness: Design and execute compliance training programs and e-learning courses, promoting awareness of ethical and legal responsibilities within the organization
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key advisor to management and business units on compliance-related issues, providing clear and actionable insights
  • Monitoring & Auditing: Conduct regular compliance audits, analyze key performance indicators, and ensure the effectiveness of compliance programs
  • Data Privacy Oversight: Support the Head of Group Compliance in maintaining the organization’s data protection framework and act as a business partner for data privacy matters
  • Reporting: Prepare concise and insightful compliance reports with KPI reporting for management, and the Board of Directors

 

About You

 

  • Master's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate compliance, legal, internal audit or risk management. Experience in a global manufacturing environment or consultancy is a plus
  • Strong understanding of regulations like anti-corruption laws, competition regulations, trade sanctions and embargos, data privacy (GDPR), and fraud prevention
  • Ability to analyze compliance risks and implement strategic mitigation measures
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple compliance initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German is a plus). Proven ability to work with diverse teams across multiple geographies
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to address compliance challenges in a pragmatic and solution-oriented manner
  • Experience with compliance monitoring tools and data-driven compliance analysis is an advantage
