About the role

 

We are looking for a Global Monitoring & Evaluation Manager within Sustainability. This role will support the building and development of our global sustainability Monitoring and Evaluation team functions. Sitting as a central support team for all our sustainability programmes and activities, the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team is responsible for the development of our data collection, management, processing, and analysis to monitor and evaluate our progress towards our Forever Chocolate goals, and ensures reliable, robust, and consistent tracking and reporting of progress internally and externally. The Global M&E Team works in close collaboration with the M&E teams in each of our key origins, and supports the work of our operational programmes. As the Global Monitoring & Evaluation Manager you will have technical expertise in data management, experience in identifying and setting up data collection processes for complex activities, as well as an ability to sit above the detail and contribute to driving the strategy and direction of our impact approach both qualitatively and quantitatively.  

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support origin countries in improving their sustainability reporting:
    • Support and coordinate with the development of tools and processes to monitor progress against internal sustainability goals
    • Set up technical requirements for reporting & in-house app development in cooperation with origins
    • Support local teams for monitoring & evaluation of operations field staff
    • Ensuring data collected is of high quality, and proposing corrective actions to improve substandard data
    • Help define and drive advanced analysis of data to support company strategic goals
  • Drive the sustainability Monitoring & Evaluation strategy and vision:
    • act as Point of Accountability for M&E for key sustainability programs
    • hold vision of M&E within wider sustainability team, and develop its capacity and functions
    • ensure consistency in our external Annual Sustainability Reporting
    • support Sustainability Team drive to impact reporting
  • Coordinate key (non-financial) analytics and reporting related to the sustainability programs executed globally to clients and donors
  • Drive the development of our technological solution and align needs and development requirements
  • Coordinate, refine requests and support the data driven research:
    • hold data analysis to fit a consistent vision on data analysis
    • support reporting consistency
    • provide technical expertise in setting up impact assessment processes

 

About you

 

  • University degree in an analytical subject or sustainable development
  • 5-10 years of experience in similar field in non-financial Monitoring & Evaluation in sustainable development
  • Experienced in working with or in African origins of several years is a must
  • Well versed in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in using and reporting from SAP and other databases, experience in database design a plus
  • Experience in using other analytical tools (Python, R) for advanced data analysis a plus
  • Experienced with writing requirements in Agile environments
  • Strong analytical and critical skills to ensure excellence in data and consistency in KPI reporting
  • Experience with setting up and running field based experiments for impact analysis a plus
  • Experience with designing or working in sustainable KPI frameworks
  • Very strong attention to detail
  • Independence and quick learning ability, although able to find right stakeholders within environment to improve quality of solution
  • Ability to explain complex reporting processes to end users with strong coaching and training skills
  • Project management experience
  • Coordination of teams outside of reporting line
  • Experience in cocoa or other tropical commodities is a plus
  • Strong listening and analytical skills combined with strong interpersonal teams
  • Excellent attention to details and reporting capability
  • Flexibility to travel to global locations, up to 20%
