About the Role

 

Zürich, Wieze (BE) or out of one of the Barry Callebaut EMEA locations

 

The Learning Manager EMEA designs, delivers and implements learning and development (L&D) programs in line with the Global L&D strategy. You will partner closely with the HR BPs and senior business leaders to identify individual, team and organizational development needs, You will be at the fore-front of driving the learning & development journey at Barry Callebaut for EMEA. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities include

 

  • You understand, apply, execute and implement the Global L&D strategy and priorities to ensure alignment, efficiency and quality in your region
  • You align continuously with the Global L&D director, the Regional Learning managers and HR BP’s on learning needs, priorities, strategy, budget and additional key topics
  • You contribute actively to the L&D Community of Learning and involve the HR community regularly, in close cooperation with Business 
  • You communicate frequently about the learning initiatives, learning needs and priorities, strategy,  budget, and key topics within your region
  • You design, develop, implement and sustain regional learning initiatives according to the strategy, global guidance and business needs; this may extend to Global learning initiatives on an adhoc basis
  • You analyze and prioritize regional and local (organizational, team and individual) developing needs and make recommendations
  • You are responsible for the regional training budget ( regarding forecast and maintenance of  costs)
  • You manage learning operations (e.g. activity creation, enrollment and attendance processes for complex and time-sensitive Learning & Development courses) for the EMEA region
  • In cooperation with procurement, you select external training partners and build strong relationships with external partners
  • You actively collaborate with content owners and content builders in the development and implementation of training interventions
  • You ensure quality standards for learning content
  • You track reports on implementation of regional training programs and growth in order for actions to be taken. You advise HRBPs, business leaders and help employees make the most of learning opportunities (including feedback surveys); this may include the measurement and evaluation of  feedback and the impact of learning initiatives (e.g., surveys)
  • You design and implement onboarding initiatives
  • You provide development in professional skills in line with regional needs and global initiatives
  • You lead projects and participate in different workgroups 
  • You coach and develop your team members in order to guarantee optimal support to stakeholders
  • You design, deliver and implement various learning formats (e.g. eLearning courses, workshops) in line with new trends in the market
  • You are responsible for the governance of Learning & Development initiatives (set up and maintain)

 

About You

 

  • Bachelor Degree is required. Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • 8 to 15 years’ experience in a Learning & Development role or have experience in a capability development function and at least 3 years’ experience in a regional role within EMEA
  • Experience in an MNC environment (Matrix organization).
  • Advanced or proficient level of Microsoft Office/Google Suite skills and SuccessFactors learning management systems (LMS)
  • Fluency in English (Dutch or any other European language is beneficial)
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices  - Knowledge of training design and training assessment
  • Experience in project management and budgeting
  • Excellent communication/consultation/analytical skill with emotional intelligence. Influencing skill without authority 
  • Sharp business acumen
  • Strong ability to build rapport with stakeholders (HR Community, Managers, Employees and vendors) You do not hesitate to challenge learning solutions, and to guide your stakeholders to the ideal solution
  • Strong organizational skills with business-oriented thinking
  • Project Management skills

  • Able to plan activities in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal , presentation and reporting skills
  • Self-starter, work with a high degree of independence, seeking support appropriately
  • Ability to work within multiple deadlines/priorities


 

 

  • Develop a learning curriculum that links directly to the knowledge and skills, defined in the role-based capabilities
  • Evaluate and prioritize regional learning needs and budget based on the input received. 
  • Work with external and internal training experts/builders to ensure the training content remains relevant, current and effective. Continuously improve learning programs based on input, learning issues and reviews.
  • Measure and evaluate training delivery, feedback and effectiveness of learning initiatives. 
  • Organize and host learning governance meetings with the Regional teams to review learning needs and effectiveness, curriculum, budget and key topics.

 

 

Travel (within EMEA) may be required to support Global Learning & Development programs on an ad hoc basis – approximately 20% . The location for the role is flexible, out of any Barry Callebaut site in EMEA.
