About the Role


We are currently recruiting for an IP Paralegal to join our Legal team based in Zurich.  With more than 2000 Trademarks worldwide, trademarks play a key role in the business of Barry Callebaut and are essential for its reputation, brand awareness and customer relationship.  This role will be keen in acting as an interface between external Trademark hubs and Barry Callebaut to manage, maintain and execute BC’s Trademark portfolio. 


Key responsibilities include:


  • Act as main interface with our external Trademark hubs to manage the global Trademark  Portfolio
  • Coordinate with external TM attorneys and internal Brand Managers in preparing and filing trademark applications
  • Support trademark prosecution efforts, including gathering evidence, and registering/renewing trademarks
  • Perform trademark searches to help advise on the availability of new names and logos for the Marketing department
  • Manage a Third Party Trademark Monitoring system and perform investigations to ensure freedom to operate of our TM portfolio
  • Review invoices and assist in cost center allocation and invoice management
  • Administrative support to the management of other IP rights, e.g. patents and domains
  • Work with Brand managers and the marketing department to ensure proper alignment of the Trademark portfolio



About You


  • At least 2 years of experience as a paralegal / assistant in the Legal Department of a multinational company or international law firm
  • Experience in the food / consumer industry a plus
  • Matura degree or equivalent and a Bachelor degree in science, economics, or law or Paralegal qualification
  • Highly Proficient in English and German
  • Excellent skills in MS Office
  • Experience in invoice management and SAP a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • Able to work in a matrix organization in a multinational environment
