About the role

 

The Head of Global Media & Content leads the company’s external narrative and content ecosystem to strengthen reputation, support strategic priorities and enhance visibility with key stakeholders. This is a senior role within Corporate Communications, responsible for shaping and delivering a consistent, high-quality narrative across all external channels. The role goes beyond traditional media relations to integrate social media and corporate storytelling into a single, aligned content strategy. The role acts as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and on external positioning, messaging and visibility. The role sets the strategic direction, standards and governance for how the company is represented externally across media, social platforms and corporate storytelling. It ensures a consistent, credible and differentiated narrative that supports the Group’s strategic priorities, strengthens reputation and enhances visibility with key stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities Include

 

Global Content Strategy & Narrative:

  • Define and drive the global content strategy aligned with corporate priorities
  • Translate business strategy into a clear, compelling and differentiated external narrative
  • Ensure consistency, quality and relevance across all external content
  • Act as final editorial authority for key external materials such as financial results.

Media Relations & Reputation Management:

  • Lead global media strategy and proactive positioning
  • Build relationships with key journalists and influencers
  • Shape external narratives on complex topics
  • Oversee media engagement, issues and crisis communications

Integrated Content & Channels:

  • Own external content ecosystem including media, social and storytelling
  • Ensure integrated cross-channel approach
  • Partner closely with Regional Communications teams to support strong local execution,
  • Define and maintain clear global guardrails for media engagement, social media and external content to ensure consistency and quality across markets
  • Act as a central point of expertise and advisory support for regions while preserving regional ownership and flexibility
  • Advise CEO and ELT on external positioning
  • Develop high-impact communications (announcements, interviews, speeches)

Content Excellence & Governance:

  • Set standards for content quality and tone
  • Drive continuous improvement in content and distribution
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team
  • Manage agencies and external partners

 

About You

 

  • 12–15+ years of experience in corporate communications, with a strong focus on media, content and strategic storytelling, including significant experience in senior, global roles within complex, regulated environments
  • Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, International Affairs, Business or a related field. Additional qualifications in sustainability, public policy, or finance are a plus
  • Native-level English proficiency required (written and spoken), with exceptional drafting and editorial capability; German knowledge would be a plus
  • Proven track record in a listed, international company, ideally in a sector with complex value chains (e.g. food, agriculture, FMCG)
  • Strong experience managing communications in a highly regulated environment, including exposure to topics such as: sustainability supply chain transparency and traceability, regulatory developments
  • Proven experience defining and leading corporate social media strategy, positioning social platforms as a core driver of reputation, stakeholder engagement and executive visibility
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead proactive corporate storytelling agendas, translating complex business, supply chain and sustainability topics into compelling, externally credible narratives
  • Exceptional editorial judgement with the ability to translate complex business, financial and sustainability topics into clear, credible and compelling external narratives
  • Experience establishing governance, frameworks and guardrails in decentralized (global/regional) organization
  • High level of business acumen, with the ability to connect communications to strategic priorities and commercial impact
