About the role

 

The Global Corporate Communications Senior Manager is responsible for the concept, implementation, and evaluation of strategically important communication. This includes working with internal stakeholders, including top management, to communicate the company’s values, strategy, goals, and direction to grow its market and thought leader profile. In addition, the jobholder will lead major strategic projects, managing various cross-functional stakeholders. This role reports to the Head of Internal Newsroom, working closely with the VP Communications & Public Affairs. The role is part of the Corporate Communications team, based at the company’s head office in Zurich/Switzerland.

 

Key Responsibilities include

 

  • Based on the Group’s communications strategy, develop and drive impactful corporate communications activities with defined key stakeholders

  • Create content for announcements, videos, newsletters, presentations, Q&As, press releases, and the company’s online channels

  • Leverage existing supplier relationships (videographers, photographers, recording studios, etc) and cultivate new contacts for corporate communications

  • Support and consult Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members on their global communication planning and goals

  • Support with the organization and implementation of events, including but not limited to: town halls, live-streams, meetings, conferences, webcasts, and press trips

  • Support and consult with Investor Relations for all mandatory financial communications and announcements (e.g. Annual Report, M&A transactions) on time, in close cooperation with other parties involved, and in accordance with SIX regulations

  • Work closely with the Head of External Communication to align external and internal communication

  • Work closely with the Regional Communications teams to align global and regional communication

  • Based on the BC Next Level communication strategy, develop and drive impactful communications to drive our investment program

  • Manage key stakeholder relationships to support initiative communications and facilitate communication across departments

  • Responsible for building and implementing the communications strategy for the switch and implementation of Microsoft

  • Create content for BC Next Level initiative communication to increase awareness and celebrate milestones

 

About you

 

  • University degree (economics, business administration, communication, journalism, or similar)

  • Fluent in English; very good command of German

  • Around 7 years of proven experience in a similar function with another publicly listed company, agency or press (food industry or agro-commodity expertise would be an asset)

  • Experience in implementing / managing Microsoft Sharepoint

  • Proven project management, social and leadership skills, enabling the jobholder to work across organizational entities

  • Strong negotiation skills while maintaining constructive working relationships

  • Excellent writing skills; ability to develop stories and to write content for all kinds of channels (verbal, digital, print)

  • Solid network of communication contacts, and the ability to expand this network

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Proven seniority to communicate with / consult executives & managers on eye level

  • Experience of working in fast-moving environments with frequent changes in the scope or direction of projects

  • Creative flair as well as attention to detail

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills

  • Ability to lead people and teams that do not report to you and to build a strong network across a matrix organization

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions, shows initiative for continuous improvement

  • Tact, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality

  • Resilient and able to work under pressure, i.e. to deliver quality results under time constraints while being able to deal with lacking or delayed information

  • Flexible to work at “odd hours” when necessary, given the urgency of certain projects

  • Self-starter, fast learner and able to self-organize

  • Has an eye for details and is very accurate in their work
