About the Role

 

We are currently recruiting for the Global Process Owner (GPO) for Valuation. This is a key role responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end fair valuation process globally, ensuring global standardization and alignment with organizational goals, compliance with regulatory requirements and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

 

  • Develop and maintain a global comprehensive framework for fair valuation processes, ensuring alignment with accounting standards (IFRS 9) and regulatory requirements in close collaboration with the Group Accounting function

  • Maintain and enhance a global standardized valuation model amongst the organization and support the various stakeholders/user groups

  • Act as the accountable overseeing the fair valuation process, ensuring that mark-to-market (MtM) valuation and embedded margin are accurately maintained

  • Develop and enhance standard templates enabling systematic reviews and analyses for different user groups

  • Conduct periodic reviews and validations of fair valuation models and assumptions, ensuring consistency and appropriateness of inputs and methodologies

  • Participate in cross-functional projects and lead improvement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the fair valuation accounting process, methodology and tools, leveraging technology and automation

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for fair valuation process matters, providing guidance and support to finance teams globally

  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including finance, risk management and audit teams, to ensure alignment of fair valuation practices with the global comprehensive framework

  • Provide training and support to finance teams on fair valuation concepts, policies and procedures, promoting a culture of continuous learning

About You

 

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPA/CFA) would be a strong advantage

  • Minimum of 8 year’ experience in accounting and financial reporting with a focus on fair valuation practices

  • Prior experience working with commodities, commodity-related products and overseeing commodity risk management

  • Deep understanding of fair valuation accounting principles (IFRS 9)

  • Project management and/or LEAN Six Sigma certification or similar would be an asset

  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, derivative financial instruments and valuation principles

  • Expertise in commodity management, commodities-related products, and the management of associated risks

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic organization

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders and articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences

  • Ability to encourage open communication, idea-sharing and mutual respect among team members

  • Fluent command of English, any other foreign languages would be an asset
