About the role

We are looking for a Director Cocoa Powder Sales Western Europe within the Business Unit Global Cocoa to set up the vision and enforce the cocoa powder strategy for the Western European region, comprising of sales, business development and margin growth. The Director Cocoa Powder Sales Western Europe will be directly responsible for the sub-region Europe South & some corporate/key accounts and will organize, coordinate and control all cocoa powder related activities in the region in order to achieve short and long term overall cocoa business objectives


Key responsibilities include

  • Define & Implement the WE Cocoa Powder Sales Strategy (volume & premium)
  • Actively participate in defining & growing EBIT of Cocoa Western Europe along with the branding strategy
  • Functional responsibility on the chocolate sales teams in the region in order to set and meet/exceed commercial cocoa powder goal
  • Drive Cocoa Powder Sales through customer visits, and grow/develop relationship with strategic customers
  • Support and drive Innovation strategies and new product implementations
  • Coordinate and control all interaction with all relevant functional areas (quality, service, pricing, production/availability, sales, sourcing, sales support & customer service)
  • Manage the cocoa powder sales team in Western Europe and assure a complete map of customers, products & prices
  • Drive cocoa powder sales in WE sub-region Europe South (double hat)
  • Actively participate in Western European chocolate strategy and align cocoa & chocolate to jointly build the business


About you

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in B2B Ingredients sales
  • Solid knowledge on terminal markets & ingredient sales, preferably cocoa/cocoa powder
  • Fluent in English. Additionally, French/German/Italian/Spanish are strong assets)
  • Very strong stakeholder (internal/external) management skills.
  • At ease in matrix organization
  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Job requires regular travels within the region (on average 60% of the time). This consists of travels into Western European region and BC locations to meet with prospects/customers, local salesforce, agents and WE chocolate management team.
