About the Role

 

The Corporate Communication Manager is responsible for the concept, implementation, and evaluation of strategically important external and internal communication. This includes working with external and internal stakeholders, including top management, to communicate the company’s strategy, goals, and direction. The person will serve as a spokesperson towards the media. In addition, the jobholder will lead the communications work streams as part of major projects, for example, sustainability and financial publications.

 

This role reports to the Head of External Communications and is part of the Corporate Communications team, based at the company’s head office in Zurich/Switzerland.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • External and Internal Communication:
    • Based on the Group’s communications strategy, develop and drive impactful corporate communications activities with defined key stakeholders (business, financial, sustainability, trade and general media)
    • Create content for press releases, (keynote) presentations, brochures and the company’s online channels, and internal channels
    • Handle all media inquiries and interview requests and management of the Media Mailbox
    • Leverage existing supplier relationships (videographers, recording studios etc) and cultivate new and existing contacts within network of key journalists in business, financial, trade and general media and the sustainability community
    • Support and consult Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members on their global communications planning and goals
    • Be an active participant in the Global Newsroom and create 360° communication projects as topic owner
    • Support with the organization of events, such as press conferences, webcasts and press trips, during the planning phase, as well as on-site for major events; acting as consultant with regards to media interaction
    • Develop tools and processes that support executional excellence and facilitate collaboration 
  • Media Monitoring and Reputational Management:
    • Further drive media monitoring and internal flow of media echo, including creation of newsletters for internal communities
    • Monitor, analyze and communicate results of external communication on a regular basis
    • Support with Crisis management and reputational issue monitoring, development of proactive and reactive media statements

 

About you

 

  • Min. 6 years of strong comms experience and in a similar function, agency or press (food industry or agro-commodity such as financial communication expertise would be an asset)
  • University degree (economics, business administration, communication, journalism, or similar)
  • Fluent in both German & English
  • Project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong negotiation skills while maintaining constructive working relationships
  • Excellent writing skills; ability to develop stories and to write content for all kinds of channels (verbal, digital, print)
  • Solid network of media contacts, and the ability to expand this network, including key media and foreign correspondents in Switzerland
