About the role

 

The Commercial Learning Academy at Barry Callebaut is a central pillar of our Commercial Excellence function, designed to systematically uplift the capabilities of our global commercial teams. As the Commercial Learning Academy Lead, you will oversee the functioning of this dynamic learning hub.

 

This role is central to shaping the roadmap and agenda of Commercial Excellence, focusing on delivering enhanced customer value and delivering accelerated commercial growth through growing and developing high-performing commercial teams. The position is designed for individuals passionate about developing commercial capabilities, teams and individuals.

 

Key responsibilities include

 

1. Develop and maintain Commercial Capability Model:

  • Assess and Analyze: Conduct a thorough assessment of existing skill sets and capabilities within BC’s global commercial teams, analyzing gaps and identifying areas for improvement for various Sales success profiles & customer archetypes
  • Assessment of current learning offering assess current learning assets, partners on their relevance in the newly designed program
  • Model Creation: Design a capability model that categorizes necessary skills, knowledge & acumen into distinct modules or learning paths, tailored to the specific needs of different sales success profiles and customer archetypes
  • Contribute to the implementation of a commercial excellence Learning Culture & Continuous improvement mindset.

2. Design, implement and sustain Commercial Learning Solutions 

  • Learning Solution Development: design targeted learning programs that address key areas Commercial Capabilities & Acumen, Functional Knowledge, Barry Callebaut Essentials,  Systems and Processes:
  • Best practice sharing: develop a model to share effectively best practices across BC’s commercial functions. Knowledge management, community engagement and communication  
  • Customization and Scalability: ensure that learning solutions are scalable and adaptable to meet the varying requirements of different regions and teams.

3. Learning Program solution implementation:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: manage & build alignment across key stakeholders across the Commercial Learning Academy cycle: Commercial teams,  Commercial Excellence, Marketing, CSD, HR, Talent Management, global learning team, Talent & Learning Partner  & Digital
  • Follow and execute the Global Barry Callebaut Learning Governance. Strong collaboration and alignment with Global Learning & Development. Leveraging global solutions and technology
  • Learning Program conduction: Develop customized training programs  that respond directly to needs as flagged in the capability model
  • Impact  & Feedback Measurement: Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of training programs and its business impact
  • Program management: manage all aspects of E2E program management, administration, system integration (LMS Successfactors) and budgeting with resources within Commercial Excellence Learning

 

 

About you

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Economics, Organization Management, Marketing, Human Resources, Psychology or equivalent through experience
  • Fluency in English. Understanding of the following languages French, German, Spanish is considered as a strong plus
  • 20-30% travel requirement globally
  • +8 years in commercial team management role, with a strong preference for experience in a B2B or manufacturing context, particularly in industries related to food production, with a direct & indirect business model
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and developing commercial teams
  • Experience or a demonstrated affinity with designing and implementing structured learning programs, including digital learning experiences. 
  • Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with the commercial and educational technologies, such as CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and digital collaboration tools. 
  • Commercial credibility and authority: act as a source of authority, through experience & behavior on best-in-class commercial execution
  • Transmitting energy: & adaptive delivery: Capable of engaging participants with compelling content and interactive teaching methods, adapted to different cultural, organizational settings
  • Conceptual thinking & Hands-on execution: Combining forward-thinking vision for the Commercial Learning Academy with hands-on skills to deploy this in effective learning programs.
  • Stakeholder management: Demonstrated ability to identify, engage, and manage key stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • High Resilience & Ambiguity Navigation: : Demonstrates exceptional levels of resilience and reliability & strong capability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations
  • Excellent presentation skills, characterized by the ability to influence at various levels within the organization, from the leadership team to frontline employees
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to navigate and respect diverse cultural nuances within a multinational context
  • Culinary Enthusiasm: A passion for food, pastry, and gastronomy is considered a plus
