About the role

Due to recent changes in the QA Department we are urgently looking for a Quality Assurance Manager for our decorations plant in the Netherlands and Belgium. In this role you are responsible to obtain the desired product and process quality and for  implementing and maintaining food safety standards and guidelines.

 

Key responsibilities include

  • As QA Manager you are responsible for total quality management on the site in Zundert

  • Next to Zundert, you also support Thimister (BE) and are jointly responsible for the sites of Heule (BE) and Nuth (NL). You gather information from the local teams and report these into the General Manager. As QA manager you have a coaching role as well.

  • You work out the long-term quality strategy, fitting into the Decorations long-term plan, and oversee the implementation, providing assistance and direction to the different teams in quality and operations.

  • You make sure that the FSSC 22000 as well as the global and regional Barry Callebaut quality and hygiene standards are well defined and communicated within the total organisation. 

  • You lead, manage and improve the quality management system enabling the quality and production teams to take up quality responsibilities by developing and maintaining competencies and awareness for quality & food safety.

  • You propose optimisations for production and other business processes and you follow up through implementation and verification of the quality management systems.

  • You coordinate complaint handling, root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement.

  • The Hoogenboom warehouse, selling a big part of the BC Decorations portfolio, is also supported and overseen by the QA manager. This includes the implementation of the entire quality system based on the IFS Broker and Logistics standards.

  • You manage directly a team of 4  people and provide the necessary training, coaching & follow-up of the different roles.

 

 

About you

  • You obtained a Master Degree in a food safety discipline (Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or a related field), preferably in Bioscience Engineering.

  • You have at least 6 years of relevant working experience in Quality Assurance in the food sector, where you managed a team for at least 4 years.

  • Experience with quality systems like FSSC 22000, HACCP, BRC and IFS is mandatory. You also have experience with auditing schemes like organic, Kosher, UTZ/FT and Halal

  • Excellent communication skills at various levels, both in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is an asset.

  • As a person you are an entrepreneurial team player, proactive, flexible, stress resistant and with a critical mindset towards optimisations and solutions. Furthermore, you are not afraid to operate in a changing environment

  • You have a hands-on mentality but still capable of delegating to the team

  • You are decisive and able to convince people based on your personal style and diplomatic approach.
