The Process Engineer provides process engineering design, implementation/commissioning services and maintenance support of manufacturing processes and equipment, under the guidance of the Process Manager. The engineering services may include equipment specification, process design, and process development/improvement. The Process Engineer evaluates and recommends new process technologies that optimize performance, are cost effective, and will improve product quality and manufacturing techniques. Successfully executes projects or areas of large projects. Provides significant contributions on project teams and may lead multi-functional teams.


Review existing data to see if more research and information needs to be collated, and assess the adequacy of the existing processes and equipment. Design, install and commission new production units, monitor development of modifications and upgrades and troubleshoot existing processes. Apply the principles of mass, momentum and heat transfer to process and equipment design. Conduct process development experiments to scale in a laboratory. Use computer modeling and simulations to design and evaluate processes and operating systems for the manufacture of products. Prepare reports, flow diagrams and charts. Support the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations. Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of a plant. Ensure the process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet supply needs. Make observations and take measurements directly, collect and interpret data from the other technical and operating staff involved. Assume responsibility for environmental monitoring and ongoing performance of processes and process plant. Ensure that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations. Liaise with other process engineers, perhaps working on associated plants. Work closely with other specialists, including: personnel responsible for the quality control of raw materials, intermediates and finished products; engineers responsible for plant maintenance; commercial colleagues on product specifications and production schedules; and the operating crew. Manage the cost and time constraints of projects. Provide process engineering tasks as required to ensure a project is executed. Act cost effectively and pass the required performance test.


Bachelor/Master Degree in Engineering or similar with process background
5+ years experience in a highly process oriented manufacturing environment
Experience in designing and improving process flows
Experience with computer simulations and modeling
Knowledgable in MS Office Suite and SAP
Perfect Dutch and English knowledge is a must.
