About this role

You design and deliver the Maintenance strategy based on Lean. You coach the maintenance and specialist teams to excellence with an business and people approach. You are a key player of the site management where you contribute to deliver on  our decorations growth strategy by focusing on investment driven and reliability driven initiatives.

 

Key responsibilities are

  • Maintain and strengthen safety culture in the maintenance department
  • Ensure all safety procedures and guidelines are implemented, maintained and enforced

 ▪        Creating continuous process improvement through leading actions directed on specific objectives (e.g. improve quality, drive down costs,..).

  • Is responsible for site installations (legal), including building.
    Define the long term strategy for Maintenance and develop implementation plans
    Responsible for the development and execution of the preventative Maintenance plan. You will ensure close collaboration with the production department.
    Deliver highly qualitative solutions to technical problems. Develop the Maintenance/specialist team.
  • Lead and Coach the Maintenance department (approx. 7FTE) in order to achieve maximum availability of the technical installations. Stimulate them to work on continuous improvements, solving problems, give them instructions, helping them to prioritize and creating a safe environment. Manage the performance by motivating, inspiring, and coaching them to improve overall productivity
    Working together with all departments in the plant like the technical department, quality, planning, Controlling, HR etc.
  • Carry on team meetings and corporate communications and guidelines.
  • Manage HR processes (such as outplacement, selection of  new employees, dialogues, mid-year reviews, absenteeism etc.)
  • Manage the budget of the maintenance/engineering dep.
  • Monitor the efficiency and productivity of the maintenance team. Develop master plan ( 5 years ) investment CAPEX plans in more detail      ( 1 year ) and ensure timely implementation ( managing time, resources and costs ).
  • Contribute in the development of the yearly plan as Management member.
  • Work in various project teams. Most of all as project leader, sometimes as project member.
  • Collaborate with associates to improve efficiency, productivity and processes. You will challenge processes and drive change as well as continuously identifying ways to reduce costs.
  • Working together and creating synergies with all departments in the plant like operations, customer care, sales etc.

 

About you

  • MSc degree in Engineering or (Technical) Business Administration
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean way of working
  • Min 3 years of working experience in Manufacturing and leadership experience (preferably in Food)
  • Experience of carrying out continuous improvement projects.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience of working within a Lean Environment.
  • Preferred expertise with maintenance systems.
  • Experience in Food is preferable.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English required
