The training specialist & POKA is responsible for managing, facilitating, and updating training programs, and developing and implementing Poka at the facility. The Trainer is a key member of the Team who works across functions to drive safety, quality, and performance excellence through implementation, support, and use of digital tools and technology, such as Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Power BI, and Poka. In addition to driving digital innovation and excellence, the Coordinator and trainer will support the implementation of the Barry Callebaut Operating System (BCOS) and help foster a continuous improvement culture at Barry Callebaut Toluca. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Observe all safety, sanitation, GMP, and HACCP requirements.

  • Work directly with Managers. & Group Leaders to identify and assess training.

  • Develop, organize, conduct, and evaluate training programs- consisting of skills & flex matrix needs.

  • Manage, facilitate, and update all training programs.

  • Lead the development and deployment of the POKA Connected Worker Platform.

  • Increase the digital system capabilities of all operational stakeholders through on-the-job training and coaching.

  • Act as a true coach linking the operators and management team while creating a data-driven culture in line with the CI strategy.

  • Implement methodologies and processes for reporting performance metrics – use data visualization tools such as POKA to create dashboards and tools to support data-driven decisions and actions.

  • Lead and/or participate in cross-functional meetings to gather requirements, scope, and business rationale for training programs/projects.

  • Meets/ exceeds requirements for food safety and employee safety.

  • Conduct employee training on programs and systems for all shifts.

  • Conduct & manage meetings and presentations on learning material.

  • Plan, organize, and implement a range of training activities including quality & safety.

  • Create, Implement, and Maintain training documentation / systems (Poka).

  • Evaluate training effectiveness.

  • Help with BCOS and MES deployment.

 

About you:

  • Engineering, or Administrative areas Bachelor.

  • Three (3) – five (5) years’ experience in a Training role, is required.

  • Experience with POKA (Desirable)

  • Microsoft Office and Google Workplace required

  • Experience in continuous improvement, change management, and problem-solving through the use of quantitative, analytical, and process improvement.

  • Exceptional organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are a must. 

  • Technical writing experience is considered a plus.

  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English.

  • Ability to support and work in a 24/7 environment is a must.
