About the Role:
The Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all plant operations and manufactured products comply with Barry Callebaut Corporate Quality Standards, the FSSC 22000 standard, and customer-specific requirements. This is achieved through the identification, prevention, and resolution of quality deviations throughout the production process, while always maintaining a strong commitment to product safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and adhere to Food Safety principles (HACCP, GMP, etc.).
- Understand Laboratory Safety principles (BPL´s, safety procedures, etc.).
- Demonstrate knowledge of Food Microbiology principles.
- Operate safely within the facility as outlined in Barry Callebaut’s Safety Policy.
- Maintain a strong commitment to providing safe products for human consumption.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Food Safety, Food Defense, Sanitation, and Regulatory Affairs policies required by corporate standards, FSSC 22000, customers, or authorities.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with plant standards regarding cleanliness, order, process conditions, CCPs, records, formulations, safety conditions, GMPs, and GLPs.
- Identify and report quality incidents related to Raw Materials, Packaging, Storage, In-Process Products, Finished Products, and Shipping Conditions.
- Guarantee full implementation of the plant’s Prerequisite Program and HACCP system.
- Conduct audits on physical and chemical property measurements.
- Perform sensory evaluations of raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
- Conduct proficiency testing (client, corporate, or internal).
- Participate in plant audits (internal, external, and customer) and ensure follow-up on quality-related corrective actions.
- Monitor application of NOM-251-SSA1-2009 related to pests, storage, utensils, etc.
About You:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in production or quality areas.
- Knowledge of food processing unit operations and sanitary plant design.
- Understanding of ingredient functionality, process engineering, and continuous improvement.
- Proficient in quality and statistical tools for problem-solving.
- Ability to interpret physicochemical and microbiological parameters in lab operations.
- Familiarity with Quality Systems and Food Safety programs (HACCP).
- Experience participating in audits.
- Strong leadership, proactive mindset, and teamwork skills.
- Conversational English.
