Maintenance Technician

About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks to ensure the continuous and safe operation of all equipment at the Barry Callebaut Toluca plant. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures, working closely with production and maintenance teams to reduce downtime, and properly documenting all interventions in SAP PM.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair issues in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and identify abnormal conditions or potential failures.
  • Use Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurrent failures and propose improvement plans.
  • Operate and troubleshoot PLCs, sensors, and other control systems.
  • Document activities in SAP PM to ensure accurate maintenance records.
  • Ensure proper use of tools and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Comply with OSHA, HACCP, GMP, and internal safety protocols.
  • Apply Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.

 

About You:

  • Technical degree in Maintenance, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience using SAP PM is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, vibration analyzers, etc.).
  • Familiar with industrial safety standards and GMP practices.
  • Availability to work on rotating shifts and attend to emergency breakdowns.
  • Conversational English.
  • Strong teamwork, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Results-oriented with a proactive approach to failure prevention and continuous improvement.
