Maintenance, Engineering Assistant Manager

About the role

  • Provides engineering expertise and technical assistance for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of facilities and equipment, and development and implementation of maintenance procedures and techniques for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant.
  • Lead the introduction of production machinery and equipment upgrades.
  • Ensure that all process equipment, utility installations and electrical installations are maintained and running at optimum efficiency.

Key responsibilities include

  • Improvement modifications and projects
    • Be responsible for new installations, upgrades and modifications of all mechanical, pneumatic and piping system. Ensure effective cost and schedule controls and prepare progress reports on assigned projects.
  • Preventive maintenance and procedures
    • Develop and maintain maintenance standard operating procedures as required, ensure relevant maintenance procedures reviewed and updated timely.
    • Evaluate equipment and maintenance history to determine, develop, and implement appropriate preventive maintenance requirements to ensure optimizing effectiveness of maintenance procedures and maximizing equipment reliability and runtime.
  • Maintenance technical support and training
    • Provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing, ensure equipment breakdown minimized, and root causes of failures investigated and equipment problems eliminated.
    • Assist in the training of maintenance and production personnel on the appropriate use, maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Day to day maintenance activities
    • Co-ordinate and involved in the routine maintenance of utilities equipments and production machineries. Ensure utilities equipment, production machineries and other supporting facilities in good condition and smooth operation.
    • Coordinate daily inspection, recording and monitoring of utilities equipments and production machineries, ensure all records be taken timely and accurately, corrective actions taken for all abnormities.

About you

  • Bachelor degree major in engineering and specialized on mechanical
  • 5 years and above experience in a highly automated environment with strong working experience in plant facilities in the following areas, Chiller units, air handling units, gas and steam boilers mechanical gear pumps.
  • Practical experience in engineering
  • Have a proven track record of contributing to the development and performance of planned preventative maintenance.
  • Equally important is extensive knowledge of local legal legislation on health and safety in the work place. Strong coordination and organizing ability and overall point of view, with the ability to prioritize and proactively complete projects
  • Strong handwork and troubleshooting skill.
  • Preferably with setting up PM system, and handle with food/production equipment maintenance.
  • Good management skills, good communication and a good team player.
  • A good organizer, details orientated, high sense of responsibilities with good thinking for customer service
  • Self-motivated, initiative and able to work well with minimal supervision
  • Handle multi-tasks effectively and independently and work well under pressure
  • Honest, team cooperation spirit, positive attitude, willing and quick to learn
  • Good command of English, both in written and spoken
  • Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD with knowledge of Lotus Notes
