About the role
Within the overall business and corporate QA strategy organise, direct, coordinate, and control all quality assurance activities in the geographic area in order to support and contribute to the achievement of short and long-term area business objectives.
Key responsibilities include
- Safety/Security/Hygiene
- Work with relative departments to supervise the implementation and maintenance of all safety, health, and environmental procedures in accordance with company policies and standards.
- Lead managing factory GMP and ensure corrective actions timely and effectively taken.
- Food Safety and Quality System Management – System Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all ISO, HACCP, BRC, and HALAL standards and customer/external audit requirements;
- Prepare and successfully complete internal, second, and third-party audits;
- Build up a good relationship with the local authority and assure full compliance with national and international quality/food safety-related legislation;
- Contact with Corporate to do ring test, reporting, and provide quality input on projects
- Food Safety and Quality System Management - Measurements and Testing
- Oversees on measures, records, and reports dimensional, functional and visual attributes compliance with specified requirements
- Make sure timely maintaining optimum performance and internal
- Calibration checks on quality-related equipment and schedules calibration of equipment requiring outside calibration
- Maintain measurement database integrity
- Food Safety and Quality System Management - Documentation
- Documents and reports all supplier quality-related issues per document procedures
- Controls and reports all nonconformance product per documented procedures
- Ensures completion of all customer required testing
- Reports production quality through Certificate of Compliance or Analysis as specified by the customer
- Food Safety and Quality System Management - Customer Relationship Management regarding Quality issues
- Works with production and customer to determine optimized process settings to assure specified requirements are met (specifically during sampling and product qualification process)
- Input on periodic customer visits whenever needed
- Lead involvement in the customer complaint process
- Complete survey and questionnaire and answer technical questions from customers;
- Food Safety and Quality System Management – Supplier Management
- Audit suppliers and sub-contractors per requirement;
- Closely work with Purchasing/Sourcing on new suppliers development;
- Productivity
- Prepare, monitor, and control departmental expense budget;
- Efficiently support production and other departments on quality-related affairs to enhance timely supplying or problem-solving.
- QA overtime control.
- People Management
- Ensure all employees understand and follow company policies and procedures.
- Provide training and supervision to all personnel performing quality testing within the quality lab and on the production floor
- Manage the team ensuring staff is motivated, trained, and ready to achieve objectives, in a positive social climate.
- Develop management talents necessary to achieve short and long-range objectives by effective direction, coaching, and training according to an overall manpower planning;
- Continuous Improvement
- Continuously develop best practices and optimize quality system /WI.
- Play a key role in supporting all company projects where needed;
- Other temporary works assigned: To have ownership and implement the related requirements of food safety and quality systems in this position
- Internal stakeholders:
- Supply Chain: To ensure all deliveries to customers is on time in full and continuous improvement in service complaint.
- Customer Service: To ensure technical questionnaires are completed and product complaints are resolved effectively and efficiently.
- Purchasing: To ensure all incoming materials meet BC requirements. Arrange for supplier audit
- Sales: Seek advice on quality and timeline compliance with customer requirements
- Production: To fulfill product specifications via the quality control process
- HR: In terms of staff welfare and recruitment, discipline issue, compliance to audit and training
- R&D: To perform quality analysis and approval for new product
- Finance: To justify compensation for customer complaint and monthly report reporting
- Project: To ensure the design for the project meet the HACCP requirement
- BC Corporate: Reporting and meeting corporate standard/testing method, etc
- External stakeholders:
- Customer: To support audit, attend to the complaint on quality issues, specifications, and inquiries
- Certification Body: For auditing purposes, i.e. BRC, Halal, etc
- Supplier: To resolve the incoming raw material quality issue
- Laboratory: Organise quality tests
- Regulation: To ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
About you
- Bachelor Degree or above in Biology/Chemistry/Food Technology/Biochemistry
- 8 - 10 years of working experience in QC/QA/troubleshooting in the food industry
- Knowledge or specific business understanding
- HACCP, BRC, FSSC 22000, ISO22000 and knowledge in fat/oils/cocoa
