The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations and projects for production

 

SHIFT HOURS:  Thursday 1:00am - 7:15am and Thursday Friday and Saturday 7:00pm - 7:15am.  

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Observe all safety, sanitation, GMP and HACCP requirements
  • Supervise Change Over Coordinators, Shift Coordinators and Operators
  • Audit shift performance of molding, retail, CCC and receiving areas including startups and item changes
  • Investigate safety concerns raised by employees and regular daily site inspection
  • Evaluate line performance based on daily speed verification to the standard.  Drive correction and increase line performance
  • Review finished product including packaging, appearance and code legality
  • Drive decrease waste/rework and yield management programs
  • Investigate customer complaints with root cause analysis and implement corrective action
  • Drive improved quality and production standards for department products
  • Ensure proper operation of all department equipment
  • Implement cost cutting measures when appropriate
  • Perform all communications necessary for smooth transitional shift performance
  • Ensures KPI’s and other visual management boards are maintained
  • Identifies and address non-compliance, looking for continuous improvement opportunities. Ensures all operational processes are carried out and in accordance with quality systems and procedures
  • Identify training needs and ensure all employees are trained/cross trained including agency staffing
  • Evaluate employee performance and document
  • Complete First Report of Injury forms
  • Administer weekly employee time cards
  • Conduct employment interviews and aide in the hiring decision

 

About you:

 

  • High school diploma or GED, required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related field, preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a chocolate making and/or food-manufacturing environment
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience people leadership experience
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floor
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Long periods of computer usage; finger dexterity and hand movement for use of keyboard and mouse, repetitive motion
  • Kneel, squat, bend, stoop; frequently
  • Push/pull up to 50 lbs using assisted equipment
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs, frequently
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures
  • Noise level can exceed .85 decibels
