POSITION TITLE: Facilities Electrician  


REPORTING TO: Maintenance Supervisor 


LOCATION: St. Albans, VT

The Facilities Electrician position is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls within the facility.


SHIFT HOURS:  Monday thru Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm


Key responsibilities include:

  • Observe all safety, sanitation, GMP and HACCP requirements
  • Install new or refurbished equipment in the facility
  • Run tests to ensure equipment is ready after install or repair
  • Troubleshoot problems with electrical equipment related to hydraulic, robotic, servo, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Repair and maintain existing equipment
  • Calibrate and maintain circuitry
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and drawings
  • Maintain repair, maintenance logs and records using a CMMS


About you:


  • High school diploma or GED, required
  • Completion of Technical School or Apprenticeship program, required
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience as an electrician working in an manufacturing/industrial environment, required
  • VT Journeyman’s license, required (not type S)
  • Master Electrician, preferred
  • Must be able to problem solve, troubleshoot and have analytical and critical thinking capabilities, required
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and written, required
  • Attention to detail, time management and organizational skills, required
  • Must be familiar with industrial and electrical codes
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule; days, nights, weekends, and holidays when required 
  • State certification or license, required
  • DRequired initiative and ingenuity to analyze a situation and to make frequent technical decisions based on specifications and electrical codes.
  • Exposed to voltages up to 480.
  • Ability to work at high heights, ie. on roofs, aerial lifts, elevated platforms, up to 50 feet while wearing fall protection and proper PPE
  • Able to lift 75 lbs, frequently with mechanical assistance
  • Able to lift 50 lbs, regularly
  • Able to lift 100 lbs, occasionally
  • Kneel, squat, bend, stoop; frequently
  • Twist, stretch, reach overhead, frequently
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to walk up and down stairs, frequently
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures inside and outside the facility
  • Noise level can exceed .85 decibels
  • Finger dexterity
  • Ability to use computer screens for periods of time
  • Ability to sit for periods of time
