POSITION TITLE: Associate Trainer, Technical

 

REPORTING TO: Supervisor, Training

 

LOCATION: St. Albans, VT

This position is responsible for training and assisting hourly employees in developing their skills. This position will work in conjunction with the Operations Trainer, management and production supervisors to progressively train employees in their assigned departments to excel at their respective job duties and other skills as necessary.

 

SHIFT HOURS:  Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm with flexibility for other times. 

 

Key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Observe all safety, sanitation, GMP and HACCP requirements
  • Assist with new hire Orientation for newly hired team members
  • Partner with Trainers and Supervisors to assign, monitor and follow up with completed training sessions for all work instructions and standards
  • Collaborate with the Training Department to prioritize & schedule floor training and standard work process development
  • Ability to create standard Work Instructions, create video and photo content for training purposes
  • Facilitate training sessions, audit and optimize processes and update standard work documentation
  • Monitor training progress for all new hires and position changes, documenting and coaching
  • Maintain and update training skills matrix and OJT’s to be accurate and current with each position
  • Support off shift training activities - checking in and conducting training meetings with night shifts.
  • Administrative tasks as needed; printing, copying organizing learning materials, tracking sign-off training sheets
  • Attend additional training sessions, internally and externally, as assigne

 

About you:

 

  • Associates Degree in related field
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Trainer - familiar with Training Within Industry (TWI) and using software to develop training skills and documentation, preferred
  • Facilitation/presentation skills
  • Working experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team-oriented environment with an emphasis on total customer satisfaction
  • Detail oriented and accurate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, manage and complete projects with tight deadlines
  • Proficient in computer usage, email, Google Sheets, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floor
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Long periods of computer usage; finger dexterity and hand movement for use of keyboard and mouse, repetitive motion
  • Kneel, squat, bend, stoop; frequently
  • Ability to reach, push, pull; often
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs; frequently
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures
  • Noise level can exceed .85 decibels
