Payroll Technician

About the role:
In collaboration with the payroll specialist, the person holding this position is responsible for supporting all activities related to the payroll cycle for all employees in Ontario with the payroll software provider.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collect and send payroll information to the payroll provider;
- Receive, analyze, and verify documents related to payroll preparation;
- Process payroll changes and employee records (creation, termination, transfers, schedule changes);
- Follow up on employee termination and reactivation records;
- Track employee probation periods;
- Prepare employment insurance records and complete Employment Insurance office inquiry forms;
- Enroll employees in insurance and RRSP plans, making adjustments as necessary;
- Send reports requested by accounting, HR, and the union;
- Respond to questions and requests from employees, managers, and external agencies regarding payroll data for unionized staff;
- Contribute to maintaining product security by adopting behaviors that meet defined requirements;
About you:
- 3 years of experience in a similar role and processing payroll
- Good communication skills (written and spoken)
- Bilingual, french is a plus
- Team work, results driven and detail oriented
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Google Suite
- Knowledge of ADP, Kronos, and SAP systems is an asset
- Must be discreet, autonomous, resourceful, and detail-oriented
- 3 years of experience processing payroll
- Knowledge of the Office suite/Google suite
- Knowledge of ADP is an asset
- Detailed oriented
