About the role

  • Responsible for strategy and management of the region’s cocoa butter and cocoa liquor ship-from and ship-to Asia portfolio, risk position, and coordination of supply and demand.
  • Lead the salesforce to steer key customer/ distributor/ inter-co partnerships, coordinate with internal stakeholders to balance service levels, and manage the region’s cocoa butter and cocoa liquor portfolio

 

Key responsibilities include

  • Lead the execution of a regional strategy for the sourcing and selling of cocoa butter and cocoa liquor to third-party customers, distributors, and inter-company requirements.
  • Analyze cocoa products' supply and demand trends, develop sourcing/trading strategies, and provide the salesforce with updates and communication strategies with regard to the latest market developments.
  • Keep abreast with customer product coverage, competitor insights, and outside Asia demand developments, and provide updates to the Regional Management team on risks and opportunities.
  • Own and drive key external customer and internal relationships with the overall goal to maximize profitability and value on a long-term sustainable basis
  • Key interactions in scope include
  • Internal stakeholders:
    • Senior Combined Ratio Manager Asia: Discuss and align on regional and global sales  strategy for butter and liquor
    • Pricing, Position Management, Risk Leads: Customer pricing differentiation, Forecast forward risk exposure, Validate sales portfolio
    • Powders Sales Team, Country Sales Leads, Corporate Account Sales Team, Inter-co Cocoa Buyers: Lead & coordinate pricing strategy, share S&D information and provide communication strategy/guidance, and general support for all butter and liquor sales
    • Planning: Contribute and lead sales forecast and portfolio
  • External stakeholders:
    • Cocoa Traders: Execute purchase and sales transactions, gather market intelligence
    • Key Customers, Distributors: Negotiate Sales Contracts, demand forecasting

 

About you

  • Bachelor / Master's Degree in Business or similar studies
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in commodities B2B sales; risk management using futures contracts
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office package, especially Excel
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Understands technical analysis and market language
  • Proven track record in B2B commodities sales
  • Technologically savvy
  • Able to multitask and have strong organization & planning skills
  • Good communication, influencing and negotiation skills within a multicultural environment.
  • Decisive: assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks and make clear decisions that are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
  • Strong ethics: understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization.
