About the role
- The Regional Head of Accounting and Reporting serves as a key financial leader, responsible for overseeing the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial reporting across all jurisdictions within the assigned region. This role demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in accounting standards, regulatory frameworks, and cross-border coordination, coupled with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- As a strategic partner to both regional and global finance teams, the incumbent will lead and support chief accountants, ensuring adherence to IFRS, local GAAPs, and tax regulations. The role plays a pivotal part in driving operational excellence, supporting finance transformation initiatives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- The role reports into the VP Group Accounting & Reporting and is part of her senior leadership team.
Key responsibilities include
- Ensure accurate, timely and robust financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, Group Accounting guidelines and local GAAP and tax regulations across all jurisdictions in the region
- Collaborate with various expert functions (e.g. legal, tax, etc.) to resolve complex compliance issues and mitigate financial risks
- Monitor and assess capital structures, funding needs, and legal requirements across regional entities.
- Contribute to the development and regional implementation of global accounting policies and standardized procedures to ensure consistency and control across sites while adhering to local regulatory requirements and internal standards
- Provide leadership and direction to chief accountants across the region fostering culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Mentor and develop accounting staff to enhance their skills and capabilities
- Lead and support finance transformation initiatives, balancing day-to-day operational excellence with change leadership
- Operate a cost-optimized finance function with a strong focus on standardized and efficient end-to-end processes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders from various seniority levels (both internal, e.g. GBS, treasury, FP&A; CSD etc. & external, e.g. auditors, tax authorities, etc.)
- Review and analyze regional financial statements, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Act as a key bridge builder for global initiatives, including ERP rollouts, finance operating model changes, and M&A activities.
- Travel requirements: up to 20-30% to different sites
- High-exposure to senior management roles
About you
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA/ACCA/ACA/FCCA or equivalent qualification required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working for Big-4 Accounting company and/or other international environment
- Extensive background in global accounting practices, including a comprehensive understanding of IFRS and hands-on experience in ensuring compliance with tax regulations
- Demonstrated success in leading global teams, developing future leaders, inspiring and guiding professionals toward common objectives in delivering strategic initiatives
- Proven track record of contributing to the development and execution of strategic initiatives in alignment with organizational goals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively in a matrix environment
- Strong working SAP ERP accounting knowledge, particularly FI/CO modules and integration with reporting tools
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate financial data into strategic insights and recommendations
- Executive education in leadership, finance transformation, or international taxation (optional but valuable)
- Extensive experience in accounting and financial reporting, with a proven track record of managing teams
- In-depth knowledge of tax regulations including transfer pricing and IFRS (particularly, IFRS9, IFRS13, IAS 2 and IFRS15)
- Fluent English required
- Capable translating strategic vision for the accounting function, aligned with the overall strategic goals of the organization, into execution
