About the role

  • The Finance Business Partner supports and challenges the Chocolate (Food Manufacturing and Gourmet) business owners in both strategic, tactical, and operational decision-making. The role plays a key role in steering the business owners to achieve a business strategy, and KPIs and increase value generation across the APAC Region. The role has to proactively provide insights on business risks and opportunities and their related financial impact.
  • As a people manager, the Finance BP, Chocolate, oversees a Finance team specializing in different Chocolate pillars and markets. The Finance BP, Chocolate, coaches and empowers them to steer their respective business leaders towards business objectives.
  • The Finance BP, Chocolate, is responsible for the business’s short- and long-term financial performance (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow) alongside the business owners. The role is required to drive initiatives aimed at improving financial performance including working with cross-functional workstreams/teams.
  • In addition to the financials, this position is also responsible to ensure financial compliance with internal policies and controls as well as external laws and financial regulations. 


Key responsibilities include

  • Business Partnering
    • Responsible for the financial performance of the Chocolate business across APAC including P&L, Balance Sheet, and cashflow 
    • Finance interface to Countries/FM/Gourmet business owners 
    • Support the business owners in preparing and determining business objectives and strategies
    • Provide meaningful decision support whilst influencing and challenging decisions
    • Partner with FP&A, Accounting, and Finance functions to provide facts and figures related to the financial performance, support analysis of financial performance, conclude key drivers and translate them into possible actions for improvements
    • Lead business financial performance discussions in meetings, conclude action plans, lead, and coordinate projects, and steer business owners to deliver 
    • Proactively identify business risks and opportunities, assess, flag & highlight the related financial impact, work with business owners to mitigate, safeguard and achieve desired business results 
    • Develop business cases, derive business assumptions to improve or safeguard financial performance 
    • Partner, align, and strategizes commercial negotiations, margins with Pricing and/or Sourcing 
    • Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, controls, and regulations

 

  • People Management and Coaching
    • Lead, coach, and empower Finance team members in achieving business goals, financial commitments, and KPIs
  • Financial Planning (MTP, Budget, and Forecasting)
    • Build, challenge, and derive assumptions for MTPs, Budgets, and Forecasts with the business owners in line with the business plan/strategies, 
    • Align/conclude financial targets with country Finance teams
    • Guide FP&A to conclude financial planning 
    • Support FP&A & OSCO Finance BPs in analysis
  • Others / Ad-Hoc
    • Strategic projects

  • Internal stakeholders:
  • Chocolate VPs
    • Supports the Chocolate business owners in decision support while influencing and challenging to improve the financial performance of the business 
    • Provides insights on financial improvement opportunities, prioritizes them, and work with the business owner to achieve them
    • Assess, flag & highlight business risks and opportunities with their related financial impact
    • Develop business cases, derive business assumptions, propose, offer/counter offer commercial terms to improve or safeguard financial performance 
    • Support in developing sales / commercial pitch with business owners
  • Country/BU Finance Business Partners 
    • Lead, coach, and guide a team of Finance Business Partners to influence regional and local business strategies (FM, Gourmet, Countries)
    • Support country initiatives, providing regional insights and guidance on commercial terms and/or negotiation 
    • Identify business risks and opportunities, assess financial impact together with Country Finance BP, flag and highlight to regional business owners or regional finance teams 
    • Drive strategic Chocolate business portfolio mix to ensure overall healthy profitability for APAC
  • FP&A, OSCO Finance, Accounting, Pricing, Sourcing
    • Guide and support FP&A, OSCO Finance, Accounting, and other specialized Finance functions in performance management, financial planning & reporting, Accounting, Sourcing, and financial compliance 
    • Partner up and drive towards regional business and finance objectives 
    • Align, support, and strategizes commercial negotiations, margins with Pricing and/or Sourcing
  • External stakeholders: Consultants / Customers
    • Support strategic/tactical exercises and initiatives whenever necessary 
    • Commercial contract terms negotiation, ad hoc customers discussions

 

About you 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting / Business / Finance 
  • 10-15 years of experience in business controlling with strong business acumen
  • Experience in a multinational company(ies), preferably in B2B and food industries 
  • Able to establish relationships with a dynamic team and senior business stakeholders
  • Experience in managing a regional/global Finance team
