About the role 
Carry out a strategic analysis of bean sourcing needs, liaise with regional supply planner and cocoa sales to optimize stock position and supply requirements.  
To make sure all the cocoa factories are supplied with the best mix of cocoa beans to meet recipe requirements at the lowest cost and with the fewest quality and delivery issues.
Reporting to Head Cocoa Sourcing APAC. 


Key responsibilities include

  • Bean Usage and Supply Planning 
    • Develop bean usage plan for the 3 grinding factories in Asia 
    • Monitor and make changes to the usage plan (vs actual consumption and supply) to ensure factories do not fall short/long beans for different origins.
    • Manage Factory Bean Planners to ensure shipment arrivals, warehouse capacity, and factory consumption plans are well coordinated
    • Communicate buying plan to BC Indonesian Sourcing team; monitor sourcing progress and device the buying strategy to achieve the sourcing target
  • Bean Position Optimisation
    • Discuss actively with the Sourcing team and R&D to source/introduce new origins and bean blends to factories based on value, quality, and supply availability of beans
    • Represent Sourcing in meetings such as weekly plant bean review and bean blend committee to manage/influence usage of high FFA and Aging beans
    • Work with PMO to develop an optimization model to prescribe an ideal bean usage plan for the factories while maintaining a healthy stock portfolio
  • Contract Management 
    • End-to-end contract management including Polomas contract creation, price fixations, contract amendments, and work with Bean logistics to ensure timely fulfillment of contract shipments (including resolving past dues, contracts washout, etc..)
    • Allocate contracts to factories and monitor supplier execution
    • Measure contract differential performance to determine value creation 
    • SRM creation for new vendors
  • Supplier Management 
    • Carry out an audit on VMI supplier’s processes; recommend improvements to supplier processes and systems
    • Together with the sourcing team, to carry out annual Supplier Evaluations based on pricing, quality, delivery performance, services, etc.
  • Stock Management
    • Develop strategies to maximize working capital usage
    • Stock reporting including but is not limited to stock forecast
  • Reporting
    • Sustainability sourcing, monthly stock & bean coverage 
    • Monthly, Quarterly, and Ad-hoc management and project reporting
  • Internal stakeholders
    • Manager, cocoa Bean Sourcing
      • Assist in the strategic planning of yearly and monthly bean buying requirement budget and to carry out sensitivity and scenario studies of bean usage and value optimization.
      • Updating and analyze the bean Economic Values daily and make recommendations to create cost-saving bean sourcing.
      • Assist in stock management to meet both the warehousing space requirements as well as FY end stock target.  
    • Factory Bean Planners
      • Establish and monitor demand plans to effectively gauge inventories and develop strategies to optimize working capital usage. This will also include the management of timely shipment and deliveries.  
      • Provide training, guidance, and leadership to factory planners, brainstorm solutions to tackle operational issues, discuss cost-saving measures to better manage the stock, align the factory’s plan with a regional plan in order to realize cost-saving and operational efficiency.
    • Bean Blend Committee & Weekly Bean Review (Regional Supply Chain, OSCO, QA, R&D, Sourcing, and Commercial): Collaborate and establish pro-active planning on raw materials requirements. Anticipate and manage changes in demand.  Provide forward supply and quality visibility for the management of bean FFA and Aging stock.    Give inputs on Bean EV value and supply availability for the committee to consider and plan our production needs competitively.
    • Indo Sourcing Team: Clear communication and alignment on Indo sourcing target (for both sustainable and conventional beans).  Update on the market competition and pricing, discuss buying strategy to achieve the sourcing target, and maintain market shares.   
  • External stakeholders: 
    • Bean suppliers
      • Coordinate with suppliers on the bean quality data collection and lots issuance.
      • To ensure that forward quality and supply visibility is made available for factory planner to devise a production plan that considers the FFA bean stock can be managed and Product quality meets customer specifications.  


About you 

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Finance or Operations or Business management course. 
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Sourcing / Planning. 
  • Preferably with experience in food manufacturing or commodity trading.  
  • Efficient communicator (in English) to both internal & external parties
  • Strong analytical, budgeting, forecasting skills
  • Operations, planning, and scheduling 
  • Stakeholders management
