About the role

  • The prospective candidate harnesses accounting, financial, and risk data to generate management reports that deepen business understanding and facilitates the decision-making process for the APAC sourcing team. This requires a strong partnership with the APAC FP&A, Risk Management, SSC Record to Reporting team, and IM/IT team.
  • This position is responsible for furnishing analyzed information in a structured manner - assessing historical and current business performances to formulate business forecasts and highlighting areas of opportunity for the Sourcing Finance Business Partner to prioritize and construct business plans. The position will be further tasked with identifying process optimization and improving financial data integrity alongside delivering actionable insights to the APAC Sourcing team.


Key responsibilities include

  • Management reporting and decision support: 
    • Support the Sourcing Finance Business Partner in reporting and data requirements. Reporting activities include but are not limited to:
      • Business results and variance analysis;
      • Budgeting and forecasting;
      • Business review requirements;
      • Data model build;
      • Data visualization activities;
      • Reporting templates refresh;
      • Ad hoc reporting and data requests
    • Undertake monthly closing activities for (but not limited to) APAC entities trading profits:
      • Derivatives accounting bookings;
      • Packaging trading profit calculations;
      • Ingredients & cocoa in chocolate trading profit calculations;
      • The monthly category called slide deck preparation;
  • Continuous improvement
    • Support continuous improvement across global finance processes in Global sourcing finance
    • Actively assisting with reporting for buyers but not limited to:
      • Weekly sales book;
      • Purchase price variance;
      • Trading profit margins analysis;
    • Continuously improve sourcing financials database to harness insights and generate analytics
  • Project management
    • Collaborate with Risk Management team on commodity position and limits management
    • Partner with other Finance domains (APAC FP&A, Chocolate FBPs, Pricing, SSC) to ensure the delivery of true and fair data and reports
    • Assist EPM project deployment for Global Sourcing scope
    • Custodian of internal controls within Global Sourcing
    • Assist in validation, quantification, and drive for new business ideas


About you

  • Higher education: Bachelor in Accounting or Business Administration (Finance)
  • Minimum 3 years Big 4 experience and minimum 3 years commercial experience developing in physical soft commodities trading/food processing industry. Experience with finance controlling, risk positions, and derivatives management.
  • Detail-oriented - ability to manage big datasets and ensure accuracy of reports is a key consideration for this position
  • Strong analytical skills supported by very strong capabilities in MS Office & SAP R/3, B/W & B/O, Analytics systems i.e. Tableau, SAC
  • Physical soft commodities industry/food processing experience
  • FP&A skill sets
  • Risk Management – Daily position and P&L reporting and market risk (VAR)
  • Derivatives management / Hedge accounting experience
  • Indirect lateral influencing skills across internal (Sourcing & Finance) and external (Sales / OSCO /IM/IT/Sustainability) functions
  • Stakeholder management – candidate should be able to manage across varying organizational levels
  • Negotiation skills – candidate must be adept at striking a deal that works for all parties
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, strong collaboration skills
  • Organizational agility
