The Logistics GBS Tower Lead is a pivotal role within our Global Business Services organization, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end transportation of both liquids and solid materials across our global supply chain network. This role demands a strategic and visionary leader who can drive operational excellence, foster innovation, and ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance while contributing to the overall success of our business.

The role requires closely collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Manufacturing, and Sales, to align logistics initiatives with broader business objectives and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Lead, coach, and oversee the transport team, ensuring a high-performing culture and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Play an active role in the career development of Logistics GBS teams.
  • Guide team members in resolving service disruptions and exceptions.
  • Determine optimal equipment utilization for shipments, balancing cost minimization with service requirements.
  • Support the shipment tendering process and address spot prices with service providers.
  • Monitor daily shipments to meet the required pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Analyze metrics weekly/monthly to implement proactive corrective actions and improve team KPIs OTIF reliability hits and Carrier performance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, acting as the point of contact and escalation for logistics senior management.
  • Lead the transition of local transportation processes into the GBS framework in alignment with the Next Level program
  • Conduct transition management, supporting the build-up of the GBS Logistics Team in alignment with the CSD GBS Lead.
  • Serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) for Logistics GBS towards Global/Regional Leadership and GBS CSD Lead during and post-transition.
  • Lead and participate in annual continuous improvement projects related to transport activities.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve logistics systems, tools, and processes, leading process improvement initiatives.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations or Business related field
  • Strong proficiency in English – oral and written
  • 10+ years of experience in Transportation and Distribution
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) Oracle a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices
  • Management experience
  • Proven track record in managing the transportation of liquids and solids
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes, including shipment tendering, equipment selection, and cost optimization.
  • Experience in identifying and mitigating risks in logistics operations.
  • Food Manufacturing experience a plus
