The individual will be responsible for end-to-end accounting of the entity in accordance with group-wide & national accounting principles and standards within the assigned scope (together with publication of the financial statement). Main duties include reconciling account balances, managing fixed, intangible and leased assets, cash and bank (both external and in-house banks) and complex Barry Callebaut specific processes around rebates, commissions and broker accounts for an entire region comprising 14 factories. Additionally, the role requires maintaining general ledger, preparing month-end close adjustments and compiling financial statements. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports are very needed in that position. The person will lead of work MX GBS accounting team

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Ownership for reporting of financial data of an entity
  • Prepare of financial statement, closing the books, producing compliant internal and external reporting
  • Responsible for executing and reviewing day-to-day accounting and month-end closing activities related but not limited to tangible and intangible assets, rebates, commissions, cash and in-house banks, broker accounts
  • Ensure that financial records are kept in accordance with IFRS requirements
  • Decide on the accounting treatment of individual complex issues (judgment-based perspective)
  • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations, analyze and resolve discrepancies
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, providing inputs and ad-hoc analysis where required

 

About you:

 

 

  • At least 4 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, month-end close; for multinational companies, preferably B2B/food industry or in Shared Service Center / BPO context.
  • Knowledge of accounting, controlling and financial methodologies and reporting (good knowledge of accounting standards and tax law, IFRS)
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and interpretations governing accounting framework, financial statements and disclosure, including IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports.

 

 

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or similar
  • SAP experience is a plus (if not, significant ability to pick up on systems quickly)
  • CPA Certification is a plus
  • Public accounting background a plus
