About the role:
As the Sales Strategy & Business Development Director at Barry Callebaut, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and developing strategic business initiatives to expand market share and increase revenue. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Product Development, to identify opportunities, develop go-to-market strategies, and execute plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
• Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with Barry Callebaut's business objectives and market dynamics. Identify key growth opportunities, market trends, and customer needs to drive sales effectiveness and competitive advantage.
• Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand Barry Callebaut's customer base and market presence. Cultivate relationships with prospective clients, negotiate contracts, and close deals to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.
• Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to assess market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences. Utilize market insights to identify opportunities for product innovation, pricing optimization, and market positioning.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Operations, to align sales strategies with overall business objectives. Provide insights and recommendations to support product development, marketing campaigns, and customer engagement initiatives.
• Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions to drive mutual success and long-term partnerships.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor sales performance, market share, and competitive performance indicators. Analyze sales data and metrics to assess performance against targets and identify opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement action plans to address performance gaps and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or similar.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Proven experience in sales strategy, business development, or related roles within the food industry, preferably in the chocolate or confectionery sector.
• Proven track record of driving sales growth and developing successful business strategies.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and identify insights.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a results-driven approach and a passion for driving business success.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Deep understanding of Food Manufacturer Business.
• Understanding of cocoa and/or chocolate products and technical aspects.
• Commercial drive to make the deal in the interest of BC & customer.
• Travel requirements: Up to 25 % of the time.
