ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Corporate Communications Lead adapts and implements the corporate communications strategy and initiatives for internal and external audiences, shapes Barry Callebaut’s image as the world’s largest manufacturer of high-quality cocoa, chocolate, and spec & dec products, and advocates as a leader in sustainability. The Corporate Communications Lead specifically helps with internal communications in the region to help local leadership to navigate our BC Next Level transformation program and delivers timezone support when it comes to regional reputational issues.
You will join a young but dynamic team, still building the Corporate Communication function within the LATAM region. Therefore, we are searching for a strong addition to our team with 5-10 years of working experience in Corporate Communications/Internal Communications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Based in São Paulo, you will be responsible to collect, update and execute the topics on the Regional Content Plan. For this, you will have to closely collaborate with other team members and BC colleagues from different functions like HR, Marketing, etc.
- As you are part of the regional corporate communication team, you will take the lead in regional internal & external communication events in LATAM.
- You will align and co-create with our Global Corporate Communications colleagues in order to align the Regional LATAM activities with the Global Corporate Communication framework of communication priorities.
- You will use your deep communication knowledge and experience from your previous jobs and the best practice examples to step-up on People communication in order to further boost employee engagement and employer branding.
- Regional implementation of global corporate communications (adaptations, translations and distribution).
- Regional development and implementation of public relations strategy, tailored for the four main Latam markets (Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Colombia).
- Management and relationship building with major media outlets and influencers.
- Monthly report of media appearances and PR activations results.
- Manage internal communications with Latam employees (bridge with Latam RH).
- SPOC for main local/regional communications forums of cocoa and chocolate associations (AIPC, ABICAB).
- You will be in the coordinating role for crisis communication and issue management, working closely together with the VP Corporate Communication and the Communications Director for the Americas.

ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor or University degree (communication, business administration, economics or similar).
- You are a seasoned communications professional with preferably between 5-10 years of experience within a similar role in a multinational company (possibly a food or agro-commodity company). Having an established network with key media and journalists is a plus.
- From your previous experiences, you understand the need to adapt corporate communications strategies to local environments.
- Excellent communication and language skills in English (corporate language) and one or several regional languages.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and inter-cultural skills who is comfortable in a multinational company, characterized by a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
- Able to build strong relationships within the Global Corporate Communications team and across a decentralized organization.
- You can work independently and you know how to deal with priority settings in a highly demanding environment.
- Resilient, able to work under pressure, i.e. to deliver quality results under time constraints.
