About the role:

APAC is a growth region for Barry Callebaut Group. To service the strong business growth, Finance has set up an Accounting Centre of Excellence (COE) in APAC, where this role will be based in. The APAC COE will drive accounting changes and improvements across the region and collaborate with the Group Accounting COE in delivering best-in-class service.

 

The role manages local accounting activities in accordance with group-wide (international) / national accounting principles and standards. The role ensures the accuracy of the organization’s financial statements and compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, as well as reporting requirements.

The role is also responsible for developing and supervising junior accountants, providing guidance as well as support on complex activities, ad hoc requests, and key issues in the execution of duties.

Lastly, the role is expected to assist in continuous improvement projects as defined by the Accounting COE and to collaborate with the APAC Shared Service Centre in centralizing transactional P2P/O2C/R2R activities.

 

Key responsibilities includes:

  • Support to develop, distribute and monitor accounting policies and procedures, continuously improve accounting and reporting processes to increase accurately and efficiency
  • Deploy and govern local Finance policies and procedures, ensuring internal controls are effective and complied. Flag / raise alert of non-compliance
  • Distribute and communicate local Finance policies and procedures to internal stakeholders, ensuring internal controls are effective and complied. Identify/Monitor non-compliance.
  • Communicate / cascade process changes to affected internal stakeholders to ensure change management is well transited
  • Lead, supervise and coach/guide the Accounting function
  • Ensuring the completion of statutory audits & compliance of the law
  • Takes guidance and work with functions to deliver internal governance/compliance, closing deadlines
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives regarding processes, technologies, accounting standard changes and organization
  • Ensuring audits completion, compliances and representation to the tax authorities
  • Support external auditors on conducting interim and yearly audits including dispute resolutions

 

 

About You:

  • Professional degree / Bachelor’s / Master degree in Finance and/or Accounting
  • English business proficiency (written and spoken), proficiency in 2nd Asian language a strong advantage        
  • 7-10 years Finance experience, with 2-3 years in managerial capability
  • Experience in a multinational company, preferably in B2B / food industries / FMCG / fast paced environment
  • Experience in managing Singapore local statutory reporting and corporate tax return
  • Knowledge or specific business understanding
  • Manufacturing and/or trading industry
  • Strong and proficient in SAP
  • Strong understanding of global chart of accounts , statutory / management (BU) reporting, accounting automation processes
  • Working knowledge on Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report processes
  • IFRS Accounting Treatment / local GAAP Accounting Treatment
