The Chocolate Operator reports directly to the Shift Supervisor. Responsibilities of this position include monitoring and testing the chocolate making process to ensure a quality product.


Key responsibilities include: 

  • Run the Chocolate Manufacturing Process and all related equipment
  • Responsible for the care, operation and safety of the equipment in the Chocolate manufacturing Dept
  • Receive production orders from Production Supervisor, Production Manager, QA and R&D
  • Must be able to perform the Refiner and Dry Ingredient Dump Station operator positions
  • Must be able to perform analytical functions including fineness, viscosity and color measurement
  • Create recipe file for raw material consumption
  • From the production order set the recipe in the computer systems
  • Insure that the correct quantities of chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, milk fat, etc. are available in the correct tanks to execute the production order
  • Insure flavors and all minor ingredients are added and documented per the recipe
  • Set process parameters, process controls and safety alarms manually and/or via a “PC” computer.
  • Perform SAP confirmation for Production
  • Prepare and be responsible for the Shift Production Report.  (This report will include information on production rates, efficiency, lot numbers, maintenance, downtime, manning and sanitation).
  • Make production checks to control quality and adjust the formulation accordingly
  • Responsible for sanitation of work area


About you:


  • High School Education or equivalent
  • Must be a results oriented individual, who thrives on situations involving pressure
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the equipment and its operation within 30 days of actively training on the job
  • Must obtain forklift certification as soon as possible after receiving position
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
