Sanitation Technician:

 

Job Summary:

 

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all machinery, equipment and facilities to establish a clean environment for producing and packaging quality products.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Performs routine cleaning and sanitation of plant machinery, equipment and facilities

  • Performs plant sanitation in accordance with the plant Master Sanitation Schedule including overhead cleaning of pipes, ceilings, duct work, conduit, support structures and HVAC systems

  • Performs all related operations and tasks needed for completing sanitation of scheduled equipment inlcuding jogging, disassembly and reassembly of equipment

  • Utilizes powered cleaning equipment that may include powered lifts, scissors lifts, power washers, foam applicators, steamers, automatic compactors, motors and various non-mechanized equipment

  • Responsible for mixin, handling and verification various chemical concentrates

  • Completes all assigned daily reports at the end of each shift and delivers to Sanitation Coordinator

  • Complies with established safety practices and performs all tasks in a safe manner while promoting a safe work environment

  • Committed to providing a safe food product

  • Works within all regulatory requirements

  • Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements

  • Perform all other related duties as required

 

 

Job Qualifications:

 

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Average Mathematical Skills

  • Skills and/or ability to gain knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and industry standard cleaning procedures

  • Basic knowledge of the function and operation of sanitation equipment

  • Skills and/or ability to gain knowledge of the basic functions of all production equipment 

  • Attention to detail and a sense of urgency in matters of food safety required

  • Must be able to freely move around entire facility

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to work 2nd shift
