Summary Job Description:

The Supply Chain Manager oversees all facets of Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Transportation activities. They are responsible for the supply chain and logistics strategy, ensuring a cost-effective flow of merchandise from suppliers to customers. Responsibilities encompass local Supply Chain operations, including warehouse and transportation management, mid-term production planning, scheduling, and material release. Upholding inventory accuracy integrity is paramount, as is ensuring the proper execution of all activities related to replenishment, handling, and warehousing of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Direct supply and logistics policies, procedures, and activities to optimize the efficiency, reliability, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of the organization's supply chain.
  • Manages the operation of the Shipping, Receiving, Planning, Inventory Control, and Materials Management teams
  • Oversee budgetary considerations and monitor the performance of all supply and logistics activities against predefined goals.
  • Research, negotiate, maintain, monitor, and regularly evaluate relationships and contracts with external suppliers, ensuring a dependable supply of goods and services meeting quality, timeliness, and cost standards.
  • Collaborate with senior executives across the organization, especially in customer service and production planning, to integrate supply and logistics strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop staff, including Supply Chain Coordinators and Supply Chain Analysts.
  • Oversee the purchasing function in the areas of ingredients, packaging and commodities by assuring continuous supply and optimizing procurement to minimize total costs.
  • Oversee inventory of ingredients, packaging and commodities, managing risk of obsolescence versus supply shortage.
  • Direct all distribution and logistics activities at the plant including managing labor costs and productivity, inventory levels and accuracy, and stocking strategies. Develops and maintain controls and procedures to ensure order accuracy and timeliness.
  • Involved in plant trials, cost effectiveness, Research & Development, and vendor certification.
  • Responsible for selecting, developing, and retaining an empowered team that delivers on Supply Chain goals consistently and is focused on the continuous improvement of the department, the plant and the business.
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with all regulations; Food Safety, Quality, Regulatory (i.e., OSHA/FDA/EPA/DOT) and employee safety policies and procedures.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages a team of salaried employees and a team of indirect hourly associates in the employees in the areas of Warehousing, Shipping, Receiving, Planning, Inventory Control, and Materials Management

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (i.e. Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering and Logistics) or related area is required.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Supply Chain and Operations in the Manufacturing industry. Preferably food manufacturing.
  • Experience in Production & Capacity Planning and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
  • Capability of leading a team in change.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience with SAP and database management.
  • Leading a team in a production environment.
  • Working in an international company.
  • Familiar with (international) Logistic processes.
  • Experience in Production & Capacity Planning and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
