We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Totes Material Handler. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, optimizing productivity, and maintaining accurate inventory records. Your primary focus will be to handle, transport, and organize totes containing various materials, ensuring their proper storage and availability for production and distribution. You may also be required to perform related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Totes Handling: Safely and efficiently handle totes containing materials, utilizing appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks. Load and unload totes from trucks or conveyors.
  • Material Organization: Arrange totes in designated storage areas, ensuring proper organization and inventory management. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment to facilitate easy access and retrieval of totes.
  • Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of tote inventory levels, both physically and electronically, using inventory management systems. Perform regular counts and reconciliations to ensure accurate stock levels and identify discrepancies.
  • Quality Control: Inspect totes for damages or defects, reporting any issues to supervisors. Ensure that all totes meet quality standards and are suitable for use in production and distribution processes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete necessary paperwork, such as material transfer forms, inventory reports, and production logs. Generate reports on tote movement, inventory levels, and any issues or concerns related to tote handling.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Operate equipment in a safe manner and report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, including warehouse staff, production workers, and supervisors, to ensure seamless tote handling and material flow throughout the organization. Communicate effectively and assist in cross-functional tasks as needed.

 

About you:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality control.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry tasks.
  • Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy totes (up to 50 pounds) on a regular basis.
