About the role

The Warehouse Assistant W0 supports daily warehouse operations to ensure smooth material handling, storage, and delivery of raw materials and finished goods. The role is responsible for executing routine warehouse activities according to supervisor instructions, while strictly complying with safety, PPE, GMP, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, this position plays an important role in supporting production needs and ensuring on-time delivery to customers. The Warehouse Assistant works closely with internal teams and external transporters to maintain efficient, safe, and accurate warehouse operations.

 

Key responsibilities include

1. Safety, GMP & Compliance

  • Comply with all safety rules, PPE requirements, GMP standards and company SOPs
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and positive working environment at all times
  • Immediately identify and report damaged equipment, safety hazards, or non-compliance issues to the Supervisor

2. Material Handling & Operations

  • Load and unload products from trailers using forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Transport raw materials and finished goods safely and timely within warehouse, distribution or transit areas
  • Store products in designated warehouse locations without damaging racking systems

3. Storage & Repacking Activities

  • Perform sorting, packing, wrapping, tying and labeling of products according to company procedures
  • Ensure products are handled carefully to prevent damage during storage and handling

4. Process Flow & Production Support

  • Follow production and delivery requests to determine material requirements, movement, and delivery schedules
  • Support smooth flow of materials to meet production and customer delivery requirements

5. Equipment Handling & Maintenance

  • Operate forklifts safely and responsibly
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on material handling equipment including recharging, cleaning, oiling, and refueling
  • Conduct routine pre- and post-operation inspections on forklifts and complete daily/weekly checklists
  • Record equipment conditions and maintenance activities in log sheets

6. Workplace Hygiene & 5S

  • Practice 5S and maintain cleanliness of warehouse areas and equipment
  • Remove empty pallets, wood, plastic, debris, and damaged products from the warehouse floor
  • Handle and dispose hazardous waste under Supervisor’s instructions

7. Inventory Control & Recording

  • Record movements of supplies, materials and finished goods accurately
  • Perform proper barcode scanning to ensure inventory accuracy and traceability

8. Ad-hoc Support

  • Perform ad-hoc tasks and assignments as instructed by Supervisor from time to time

 

About you

  • Minimum SPM, or primary school qualification with relevant working experience
  • Experience in warehouse operations, material handling, or logistics is an advantage
  • Certified or experienced in forklift operation, with ability to operate forklifts safely
  • Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance for forklifts or material handling equipment
  • Physically fit and able to:
    • Stand and walk for long periods
    • Push, pull pallets and lift products
    • Bend, kneel, climb racking and operate order pickers when required
  • Good hand–eye coordination, balance, and manual dexterity
  • Ability to differentiate colors and maintain focus during repetitive tasks
  • Positive attitude, dependable, and able to follow instructions
  • Willingness to learn and take on responsibilities
  • Able to communicate verbally in Bahasa Malaysia or English
  • Basic reading, writing, and numeracy skills
