About the role

The Daily Technician supports daily preventive maintenance activities at the Pasir Gudang factory, working closely with operators, process engineers, supervisors, and the maintenance team. The role is critical in ensuring equipment reliability, safe operations, and compliance with GMP and company standards to support smooth daily production.

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, the Daily Technician is responsible for executing preventive maintenance plans, identifying potential technical issues at an early stage, and supporting continuous improvement in machine condition and performance. The role requires the ability to work independently, respond effectively during urgent situations, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.

 

Key responsibilities include

1. Safety, GMP & Compliance

  • Perform maintenance activities in compliance with company safety policies, GMP standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Promote and practice a strong safety-first culture during all maintenance and repair activities
  • Ensure work areas and equipment are left in safe, clean, and hygienic condition after maintenance work

2. Preventive Maintenance Execution

  • Execute, follow and conduct the preventive maintenance plan, balancing timing, accuracy, and cost effectiveness
  • Support daily preventive maintenance activities together with operators, supervisors, and process engineers
  • Encourage continuous focus on maintaining machines in optimal operating condition

3. Equipment Monitoring & Issue Reporting

  • Identify, monitor and report potential equipment issues in the short, mid, and long term
  • Escalate abnormalities and risks early to prevent unplanned downtime or equipment failure
  • Maintain awareness of equipment condition across the production line

4. Troubleshooting & Operational Support

  • Work independently with strong technical knowledge and emergency response awareness
  • Understand the interrelation between different equipment and production processes
  • Support troubleshooting activities to restore equipment functionality efficiently

5. Team Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, and Automation Technicians to align tasks and priorities
  • Coordinate effectively with Maintenance Coordinator for task allocation and execution updates
  • Support operators and supervisors during daily operations and maintenance activities

6. Learning & Continuous Improvement

  • Demonstrate eagerness to learn and continuously build technical and operational knowledge
  • Support initiatives to improve preventive maintenance effectiveness and machine reliability

 

About you

  • Strong technical knowledge in mechanical and/or electrical systems
  • Hands-on experience in preventive maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Exposure to safety practices and GMP requirements
  • Apprenticeship, technical certification, or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related field
  • Good understanding of preventive maintenance systems and industrial equipment
  • Ability to work independently with strong sense of responsibility and urgency
  • Safety-focused mindset with commitment to completing tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve technical skills
  • Ability to work effectively with operators, technicians, engineers, and supervisors
  • Proficient in local language, with basic working knowledge of English
