About the role:

Coordinate and provide support for the conceptualization, design, implementation, communication, and commissioning of engineering projects at the Paine Plant. Handle specifications, process design, and process improvements or modifications. Identify and participate in the evaluation of new technologies to optimize production line performance, aiming to improve productivity and manufacturing costs. Participate in multidisciplinary problem-solving groups; manage and oversee the performance of contractors and service providers for capital projects. Manage the budget for assigned projects.

When required, secure resources or execute project work plans, directly supervise work and I/O checks, and actively participate on the production floor during the startup of new equipment and production lines.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Design, define work specifications, create implementation schedules, and oversee the installation and commissioning of new or refurbished equipment.
  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan; resolve operational issues and prevent delays.
  • Identify, develop, and secure the resources needed to complete projects.
  • Select materials, equipment, project personnel, and contractors.
  • Apply technical standards in alignment with business strategy.
  • Develop RFQ/RFP documents for the procurement of equipment and services for assigned projects.
  • Analyze comparative bids provided by the purchasing department and select the option best suited to project needs.
  • Gather and verify the documentation required for equipment importation.
  • Analyze plant issues and processes and propose improvement solutions.
  • Review and approve layouts, production line modifications, and conceptual drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Prepare reports, diagrams, and charts.
  • Prepare and track project expenditure reports and ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Ensure all installations comply with required HSE, quality, and Food Safety (FS) standards.
  • Collaborate closely with specialists from other areas during project implementation.
  • Document the handover or transfer processes for completed projects.
  • Perform the formal accounting closure of executed projects.
  • Prepare final reports for each project.
  • Meet customer quality and service expectations and ensure strict adherence to current regulations applicable to the food industry.
  • Responsible for reporting any potential or actual hazard to a supervisor and the Quality Department.

 

About you:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Automation, or related fields) is required. A Master's degree (MS or MBA) is considered a strong asset;
  • 6+ years of progressive engineering project management experience within the FMCG, food process, or consumer goods industry;
  • Solid, proven experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and executing large-scale CapEx projects;
  • Advanced/Fluent proficiency in English (essential for corporate and global communication);
  • High proficiency in Project Management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and familiarity with Engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and ERP systems (SAP);
  • Strong background in process automation, utilities/infrastructure, or civil/construction within an industrial environment;
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences;
  • Experience or exposure to international manufacturing environments and corporate engineering standards is highly desirable;
  • PMP® (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
