The Transportation Analyst will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling the movement of goods for TL, bulk liquid, and drayage, ensuring timely delivery while optimizing costs and efficiency. Responsibilities include optimizing freight and driving cost savings targets across the North American network of ports, plants, and warehouses. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders – including but not limited to drivers, carriers, and internal teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Interpret information related to each shipment; gather additional information as needed.
- Determine optimal equipment for shipments in relation to cost minimization and service requirements.
- Negotiate spot prices with service providers as needed.
- Execute the shipment tendering process.
- Monitor daily each shipment in relation to required pickup and delivery date/time.
- Identify and resolve exceptions as they arise.
- Proactively communicate information to other departments and third parties.
- Proactively facilitate meetings with stakeholders for strategic initiatives, issue resolution, or both.
- Support the Transportation team with administrative functions as needed.
- Support all Inbound/Outbound Transportation workflow activities as needed (including bulk liquid and drayage)
- Analyze weekly/monthly metrics resulting in proactive corrective actions to improve team KPI’s.
- Create and/or participate in annual continuous improvement projects related to drayage activities.
About you:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations or Business related field
- 1+ years of experience in Transportation and Distribution
- Strong proficiency in English – oral and written
- Familiarity with Transportation Management System (TMS)
- Proficient in MS Office
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices
