About the role:
Under the management of the Operational Planning Manager, the OPR Lead manages a team of around 5 planners with whom he will be responsible for developing short and medium-term plans for Barry Callebaut NA Network. The OPR Lead will provide guidance to the planners on ensuring the availability of products to service our customers on time and in full at the lowest cost possible. Additionally, the OPR Lead will participate in key initiatives and projects to support continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain production plans across sites with optimal use of the network, asset utilization, stock levels, and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with Liquid planning, to ensure synchronization of dependent requirements.
- Collaborate with the Sr Planners in the network, to ensure consolidation of total requirements and consistency of the plans, as well as proactively identify and resolve supply chain issues.
- Monitor production plan execution through attainment to plan and challenge Operations on their performance; Report structural deviations via S&OE.
- Follow up on actions resulting from the S&OE meetings and ensure implementation of decisions impacting supply taken in the S&OE.
- Drive regular reviews with local teams on planning parameters to model capacity: OEEs, rates, calendars, and maintenance plan.
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing inventory levels aligned to service levels.
- Establish and maintain relationships with production and distribution sites to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the planning processes and tools (especially OMP).
About you:
- Experience with team management of a minimum of 3 team members.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in supply planning, purchasing, and inventory management.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business or Engineering.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience with SAP and Business Objects.
- Previous experience with OMP is a plus.
- APICS or related supply chain certification.
- English fluent.
