The Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for processing sales forecast data and providing support to the Demand Planning Manager for completing the forecast analysis to be reviewed with sales team.  The role requires challenging and validating the sales inputs, statistical forecasts, and import management. As part of the demand planning cycle tasks, the demand planning analyst is the natural back up for the Demand Planner.

Must be proficient with statistical concepts, forecasting best practices, and familiar with sales, operations, and supply chain norms.  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A degree of creativity and latitude is required.

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant information to create accurate demand forecasts
  • Collaborate with commercial function to gain alignment on the forecast
  • Ensure overall consistency or gaps understanding between forecasts, budgets and prior year actuals and managing the portfolio mix (top down and bottom-up expectations)
  • Conduct root cause analysis for demand planning variances and implement corrective actions
  • Analyze and troubleshoot demand-related issues in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure proper execution of demand planning processes 
  • Drive towards continuous improvement and identify improvement projects within the demand planning scope
  • Provide support in preparation for demand validation meeting for the overall sign-off with Sales VP
  • Publish and present forecasts reports and KPI at different levels (BU, customer, by product family)

 

About you:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a planning/forecasting role
  • Forecast system knowledge
  • APICS certification a plus
  • Proficient English written and verbal communications skills
  • SAP BO Analyzer, Business Warehouse experience
  • Advanced in Excel
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
