We are looking for an Accountant who will be a key member of the Finance team, participating in the end-to-end accounting operations for the local entity within Barry Callebaut. This role ensures accurate financial records, compliant reporting, and efficient transactional processes, while contributing to a high-performing and collaborative finance environment.

Operating within an international organization, the Accountant works closely with internal stakeholders across functions and borders, plays an important role in month-end closings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position offers strong exposure to financial processes in a global setting, providing opportunities to develop technical expertise and influence process optimization.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bookkeeping and maintain accuracy of the general ledger
  • Manage invoicing and Accounts Receivable process
  • Participate in month-end closing activities
  • Manage leasing accounting in line with IFRS16
  • Perform account reconciliations. Identify inconsistencies and proactively resolve issues
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Validate and maintain high-quality financial data across systems
  • Prepare and deliver financial reporting and documentation according to deadlines
  • Prepare statutory and regulatory reporting (e.g. SCB)
  • Monitor and follow up on costs and financial performance
  • Support internal and external audits through documentation and analysis
  • Collect, process, and maintain large datasets with high accuracy and efficiency
  • Acting as backup within finance function (e.g. for Accounts Payable activities)

 

Candidate Profile

Education & Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (experience with Medius/Axapta/SAP is an advantage)
  • Fluency in Swedish and English

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or a similar role
  • Hands-on experience with AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end processes
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial workflows
  • Experience in an international environment is a plus
