Barry Callebaut is searching for a dynamic Sales Developer Gourmet to plan and implement sales activities, products and programs with select accounts. Strategic relationships, opportunity identification, and proactive account management skills are critical in this role. The sales developer is responsible for achieving Chocolov program and Confectionary objectives – technical support with sales orientation – Innovative products development according to the customer needs providing a high degree of service level for our customers and/or distributors.

 

Sales Developer will promote the use of our Gourmet brands, with the aim of supporting our clients with developments and / or proposals to make their businesses more profitable and at the same time increase the portfolio of each one of them. It will ensure that the orders that are made are delivered in a timely manner to customers through the different distribution channels; It will also attend and / or channel any technical and / or commercial need that may arise from our distributors and / or end customers.

 

The Sales developer works within a cross functional team environment to achieve his/her objectives and will have a dotted communication line with the Sales Field Manager.

 

Key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans, technical trainings and programs and forecasts to achieve objectives for products and services; responsible for the sales operating budgets including volume and margin.
  • Develops account plans for customers to deliver annual volume and margin targets, and strategic initiatives to drive the highest possible wallet share and create a “sticky” supply relationship; develop new business opportunities including strategic volumes and close deals.
  • Inspire End users with its own chocolate creations and recipes.
  • Prepare and manage scorecards, building blocks and business plans for assigned clients.
  • Internal negotiation with marketing to build promotional calendar and activities for distributors.
  • Collaboration with finance area for collection activities.
  • Participate in forecasting process to improve accuracy.
  • Drives the new business activities for volume and margin growth through product development by developing relationships with customer R&D stakeholders; manage the project management activities for key projects and steer internal R&D efforts.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with customer stakeholders including procurement, R&D, QA, Supply Chain, Marketing, etc.; pursues higher level relationships within the account.

 

 

About you:

 

  • Specific diploma in Confectionery and Pastry, and/or 3-5 years of experience within the chocolate and pastry industry.
  • 2-3 years of direct sales/commercial experience in the food industry for bakery, pastry, chocolate, dairy, confectionary. It´s important to have knowledge in the Food Service industry in the different segments: HORECA, Confectionary and BAPA.
  • Travel is expected and required to meet the essential job function.
  • Native language and English is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all business partners.
  • Achievement oriented with strong relationship building skills and the ability to interact with a variety of internal and external customers.
  • Business Acumen including quantitative analysis, and financial understanding.
  • Communication Proficiency – outstanding communication styles and to different audiences and levels; Customer/Client Focus – champion customers to achieve business goals but demonstrate balance for BC needs.
