About the role

 

The CI & Compliance lead defines and drives the implementation of best in class quality continuous improvement initiatives for quality and food safety standards and practices in the region and leads the overall global cocoa quality continuous improvement initiatives to achieve cocoa strategic objectives

 

Key responsabilities include

 

  • Improves the  performance of the region‘s manufacturing sites by analyses of quality performance KPI’s and issues and recommends strategies and techniques to proactively improve and monitor trends to ensure delivery of agreed targets
  • Leads and co-ordinates cross-regional quality CI projects in global cocoa.
  • Supports a quality by design culture within global cocoa by working with corporate engineering, R&D, production and quality teams in assessing product, equipment and people interface to prevent failure and leads FMEA reviews in identified product and process innovation.
  • Ensures compliance of factories with the Corporate Quality and Global Cocoa Quality Policies, product and process regulations and procedures , reports on findings and agrees corrective programs for compliance with regional leads.
  • Conducts bi-annual reviews of policies and procedures to ensure that cocoa maintains compliance and that any omissions are corrected. Raises the need to adapt, modify or proposes new policies and procedures as may be necessary for the changing circumstances in global cocoa quality deployment due to customer and/or business needs or learnings
  • Co-ordinates incident learnings and follows up action with the cocoa regional QA to ensure implementation of learnings, deployment of OPL’s and plans to embed upgraded practices in production or maintenance routines.
  • Assures that the right methodology is used for quality-improvement exercises and enforce Best Practice sharing by using global tools and –platforms to share and embed best practices
  • Responsible for documenting specific quality procedures and guidelines for cocoa quality management and ensuring roll-out and compliance.
  • Develops and supports QA local teams in quality culture & continuous improvement initiatives in the region.
  • Responsible for following up on latest research in cocoa applicable to solving QA problems in cocoa quality and ensures that a quality by design approach is adopted in new processes, equipment and in new product development

 

Your profile

 

  • University level degree in Microbiology / Biology / Chemistry
  • Fluency in English and French
  • 10+ years of relevant working experience in Quality Assurance in an international agriculture, food, food ingredients or pharmaceutical industries 
  • Experience in continuous improvement activities and has a working knowledge of lean, 6sigma, FMEA techniques and TQM
  • Demonstrates excellent investigative skills and root cause analyses in food safety incidents particularly related to microbiology 
  • Very good understanding of manufacturing hygiene design priciples and equipment impact on microbiological safety 
  • Knowledgeable in Food Safety management and QA, HACCP management, Hygienic, GMPs and qualified FS auditor
  • Technically proficient with latest advances in microbiological rapid test methods and testing protocols

This role requires 30% travel
