Cocoa Customer Support

1. Assure Cocoa Customer R&D portfolio

  • Receive and follow up customer samples
  • To be able to organize aTasting session and evaluate its results
  • Prepare presentations
  • Proposition of cocoa products alternatives from the existing product range
  • Follow up the project and assure the administrative register up-dating
  • To be able to make specific R&D analysis in case of outgrow
  • To prepare concepts and evaluate the relevance for the customer project
  • To prepare with collaboration of marketing and Business Develop Managers ideas, concepts and ways to present products to the customer
  • Participate to Innovation days, Co-Creation days for the
  • Travel to customer location for customer visits and training (one week travel once every 6 to 8 weeks)
  • To represent BC Cocoa R&D at fairs and other marketing events
  • Receive samples sent by the customers, register, create the project on the system
  • Be the technical BC contact for the customer in case of need of approval of specific deliveries, product/specification change, etc

Countertype of products used today by the Customer

  • Fill in the request of sample shipment to customers and follow up its utilization, comments in collaboration with the commercial partner until an agreement with the customer is gotten
  • Determine the analysis to be made as to follow with the project
  • Selection of the closest Barry-Callebaut products after evaluation on analysis results or development of new product if there is no close option on the existing range
  • Discuss with the commercial on the outcome of the projects
  • Up-date the customer project file whenever an information is received from the customer or sales
  • Participate to the department meetins and to the commercial meeting from the zone of relecance and make a synthetic view of the projects on going at the zone

Manage the Customer Cocoa Project Portfolio

  • Be the point of contact between the Customer R&D and BC Cocoa R&D
  • Participate to the strategy development towards the Customer and work closely with the dedicated Sales Manager
  • Communicate internally about the on going projects with the Customer
  • Be the bridge between the Customer, Cocoa R&D, Chocolate R&D and Sales community on all issues or projects for the Customer.

 

2. Development of new products

  • Develop new recipes as to create new products that answer the customer requirements
  • Selection on raw materials and creatioàn of the formulations to be followed up by production for the new product creation
  • Follow up and guide the quality of products under development during its production with collaboration of production and quality assurance
  • To be the link with the production for the industrial trial follow up
  • To be the link with Supply Chain and Quality assurance for the follow up of the 10 first productions
  • To be the link with the supliers BC (Cameroun, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Hamburg, Gravelines, etc) for the development of raw material

 

3. Other activities

  • Follow up performance indicators and assure the report of activity with the management
  • In very close collaboration with the sales force, identify the opportunities for the group, solve the issues and up-date the acitivies of Cocoa R&D Innovation.
  • Participate to the organization of events as cocoa trainings for internal or customers
  • Assure the presentation and training of customers on site or at external place on cocoa process or cocoa products.
  • Participate at Internal R&D and Innovation projects
  • Lead Internal R&D and Innovation projects
  • Participate to the development and creation of new products – Ideation, conception, etc
  • Enlarge the Cocoa knowledge and Cocoa integration on the group – events with sister companies as trainings, visits, etc for them and also for our Cocoa colleagues

 

 

Qualifications required

  • Education:

Preferred Master degree in food science, engineering or other related field; alternatively technical degree with experience in food R&D or processing.

 

  • Experience (type):

3-5 years of experience in food development, QA or processing environment

 

  • Experience in project management

Knowledge on food technology, industrialisation processes

Knowledge/understanding on analytical methods evaluation

On top of local language, fluent English required
