About the role:

Tax Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of Tax Experts (working as a part of Center of Expertise) - Indirect Tax Accountants (junior/regular/ senior) and delivering high quality indirect tax accounting and reporting services related to VAT, Intrastat, Intra-community transactions and other required declarations within European countries (Swiss and EEMEA regions). The person on this position is also an Indirect Tax Expert with the extensive knowledge in the field of international taxation, able to provide advisory on any aspect of Indirect Taxes. Team Leader supports Tax Manager in managing of internal and external audits as well as monitors  the tax law changes in the European countries plus facilitates their adaptation to the BC environment. Strong stakeholder management is a key competence in this role as the daily job requires cross-teams collaboration (with different departments) on all levels within the organizations. The role also includes transition of tax processes from Corporate/Regional/Local functions and their transformation in line with the global and SSC strategy.

 

Key responsibilites:

  • Leading a team of tax accountants (regular/ senior or junior) to ensure they stay motivated and consistently deliver outstanding service.
  • Monitoring team performance and ensuring the knowledge is well kept and documented in the team.
  • Inducting new employees and helping them to settle in and train them.
  • Keeping the attrition on a controllable level.
  • Setting targets and motivating team members.
  • Ensuring high quality performance and constantly looking for ways to improve.
  • Responsible for timely reporting of the monthly, quarterly and yearly VAT, Intrastat, Intra-community and other required declarations for Europe (e.g. excise duty, Coffee-steuer, German coffee tax refund, grune punkt in Sweden, withholding tax in Spain and plastic tax in UK) for all the countries transferred to SSC.
  • Ensuring timely tax payments and pre-payments.
  • Responsible for Standard Audit Files related to indirect taxes.
  • Ensuring compliance of purchase invoices and sales invoices with local tax legislation for the countries in scope.
  • Providing guidance to other BC departments on Indirect Tax related subjects.
  • Supporting of the VAT audit, contact with Tax Authorities.

 

About you:

  • Certified Accountant or similar education as a qualified accountant.
  • Proficiency in English, another European language would be an asset.
  • People management skills.
  • Proficient familiarity with European tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong technology skills, including SAP, Microsoft Office and web-based application.
  • More than eight years of experience in Indirect Tax Accounting
  • Extensive experience with growing responsibilities in SSC/BPO environments.
  • Good understanding on automation opportunities.
  • Experienced in continuous improvement approach and transition of processes.
  • Working experience in an international business environment.
  • Service-oriented, demonstrates flexibility to adapt to the business requirements.
  • Strong leadership.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Keen on sharing knowledge.
  • Effective communicator and presenter.
